We didn't have a tour guide or a 4-wheel so we couldn't give you any company name. But we saw many 4-wheel with the name Eco Cameron tours on the door.

It would be recommended to have a 4-wheel because the road is bad and if you wanna go further into the forest you need a guide. Probably more interesting too to learn more about the plants and trees which are growing up there!

Thank you all for your input. We did try to drive up slowly in our MPV but mission abolished 2km before destination :(

It's true, the narrow path and bad road condition were the hurdles. Will go nxt time taking a 4 wheels drive or joining Eco Cameron tour perhaps.

The road is winding and not paved so recommend to go with a tour guide by the name of APPU working for Eco cameron office in Tanah Rata

There are many local tour agencies over there that can arrange transportation & guides for you to explore mossy forest.

I strongly recommend either go with a tour (that uses jeep/4WD vehicles) or drive equivalent vehicles to Mossy Forest. Although it is a paved road, it had too many potholes and very uneven; there's one section of the road where there's a huge uncovered monsoon drain & only jeep/4WD vehicles could pass through it (this is based on my experience on 13 May 2017, Sat). Don't drive your own car, you will regret it as your car will have more "rattling" sounds after the drive up to Mossy Forest. As the road condition is very poor, so the journey to drive up to Mossy Forest takes longer time (if you are driving yourself, as you need to maneuver your car to avoid the many potholes on the road). Unfortunately, unable to recommend which tour guide/company at the moment as me & my partner drove up to Mossy Forest on our own.
