Cash in ringgit is accepted everywhere. Fancy places will accept credit cards, and this hotel. There are money changers everywhere but we never found really good exchange rates...just have to accept what they offer. For those with USD bills, the money exchange kiosks either do not accept OLD issue bills (airport), or give reduced exchange rates for old bills, although the old bills are still widely used and equal in value in the USA.
