Hello , my daugther whom is 21 years old, will be travelling to stay at this hotel for a conference that she was invited to participate, the organizers are not providing transport from kuala lumpur airport to the campus, can anybody suggest a safe way to get a cab, I am a bit concerned about her travelling alone such a long distance from airport, for what I see is like a 40 minutes drive, especially that there is so much women trafficking in south east asian countries, and rape, etc she is used to travel by herself in europe and in the united states but at least in those places she knows how to handle herself and knows the language
and I read stories of taxi drivers going around for a longer time than needed just to overcharge more money
i will appreciate any feedback regarding safe and direct transport from kuala lumpur airport to the hotel,
There are several licensed taxi providers at the airport itself that are very reliable and safe that do not overcharge which your daughter can go to .
All she will need to mention is Subang Jaya - Sunway and later to the taxi driver that he should go to Taylors University Lakeside Campus.
If there are any further concerns, you may contact us and i hope that i have been able to answer your question.
Have a nice day !
Dear Rosannar, I am a Singaporean and I can assure you that Malaysia is safe, just be sensible. Don't get overly worried over the news, I am not saying that those incidents did not happen, by far, they are an exception rather than a norm. Since you said that she is well travelled in Europe, I am sure she would be fine. From the KLIA, there are a few ways to get to Ruemz. The most affordable way is by train but there are no routes by train. The next is by Airport taxi and there is also the most comfortable way by Airport Limo. Both of which are not overly expensive. Airport Limo would be most 'safe' (I have a 21 year old studying in Northampton alone too). Buy the Taxi or Limo tickets from the Airport counters, cost a little more, but eliminates the hassle and also removes the uncertainty if they driver takes her on a merry-go-round tour. Contrary to reports on the use of Uber or similar apps, I find them more unsafe than Taxi and Limo services.
You can buy a ticket inside the airport just before going out into the public area. These tickets are cheaper and regulated. Outside is where high prices abd potential dangerous characters operate.
