we had a mixed fitness group and ages and all managed quite well
In places the walk is scrambly and a walking pole would make it easier for some and they are easy to purchase at sports stores ( and cheap) in Kl or pick up a big stick on the way
Its a great d
ay out of town good food and some laughs
If you are an active person you should have no problems with the first waterfall walk. Chen sticks to a path he knows well that is mostly flat but envolves some scrambling to pass over objects and quite a few river crossings. All in all I would say the easier walk in one direction is maybe only 2-3km at max. But the scrambles and water crossings make it appear longer. There were some unfit members in our group but they got on fine as there are breaks to swim in safe parts of the river where Chen allows you as much time as you like. He also only takes small groups, for example he only took our group of four with him and as an experienced hiker himself he could read the group well and adjusted his pace accordingly. He also carries lunch and water to eat by the waterfall. You will have a fantastic time, we didn't meet another soul on this walk and felt like we had the forest and river to ourselves it was fantastic. Just remember your sunscreen and runners and wear bathing trunks.
