I'm looking to book for December, is there anything outside the hotel complex?
Once you’ve been to all the shops and bars, of which there are many, you could turn right out of the hotel towards Naringama beach (alternatively turn left from the beach). There’s loads of surfing there. Also you could take a tuk tuk to the Tsunami museum, which is not far. You would also be able to visit the Tsunami memorial. Both are well worth the visit. You could throw in the turtle hatchery on the way back.
If you want to get out and about, you have lots of shops and a few restaurants in both directions out of the hotel gate, although turn left is best.
We jumped in a tuk tuk and asked to be shown around, it only cost a few rupees (about £2) but well worth it instead of dodging the traffic and other tuk tuks.
Go for it, you will enjoy
The property is self sufficient for food and entertainment. Also has a awesome pool and other sports. Outside the property on a walking distance there are few restaurants. But to be frank i did not feel like walking out of the property. You get awesome crabs but you will need to take a cab. But dont miss to eat the crabs (if you like them).
Yes, you can very well spend time on beach and shopping, eating, walking on the road outside hotel.
Yes Sara you can stroll along the road and enjoy shopping from dozens of shops on both sides of the road. You can also try different restaurants and coffee shops with some having view of the sea. Hire a tuk tuk to the main market. wonderful place to stay.
Hotel is situated in the heart of Hikka. The is plenty to do and snack on outside the hotel.
