I am not too sure but the confirmation should be instantaneous. TripAdvisor in itself is not a booking engine and uses the services of either Booking or Expedia. So the confirmation arrives through one of the two. Please be assured that it is a safe way of booking and there is no issue with regard to the same. Some issues might have existed in the initial days but all of those have been sorted out.
