My friend & I are arriving there Wed. 6/21 late evening and staying thru Sun. 6/25 early a.m. We are leaving the husbands, kids & pets @ home & spending a girls weekend on the beach!!! The hotel looks nice however some of the reviews aren't too positive. Hoping for the best as it is very affordable & right on the beach. Couple of questions: will we need a rental car or are there plenty of things to do within walking distance from the hotel? Our room is a "STUDIO", does that have a coffee maker / mini fridge / microwave?
Okay the hotel usually has a shuttle the concierge are Joey or Larry they could probably hook you up with a ride it's 9 bucks a person or you can take a cab from the airport to the hotel and it's like 35 bucks you don't need a car the boardwalks two and a half miles of restaurants and pubs plenty to do the Beach ocean there's tours at the concierge can hook you up with that pick you up at the hotel so you should be good if you do not have a car we didn't rent a car when we were down there the hotel doesn't need a little updating however you're not going to be spending your time to time in your room we had the studio and yes it has a refrigerator and oven a stove and a coffee maker hopefully this was helpful you guys should have a great time the beach was wonderful they're totally worth it do the parasailing it was awesome 60 bucks a person Hollywood parasail they'll hook you up as well
There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. located all up and down the beachwalk. Although the Beach Resort is a dump it's positioned perfectly for enjoying the fun of beachwalk entertainment. I do recall there being a coffee maker in our room but the coffee cart in the Oceanwalk Mall (what a joke) makes a killer Cuban Coffee.
Hi, Make sure you call the hotel ahead of time and let them know you will be needing the transportation service to and from the airport so they can put you on the list because its free for 3 days or more and $18 each person each way if not. Then you just call from the airport when you get there.. There is a ton of trolley and bus service going all the way from Miami to Ft Lauderdale.. otherwise taxi's are expensive. Its 18$ a night to park a car so I would plan on skipping that.. also when your on the phone with the hotel ask about the studio.. its cheaper to rent this hotel by phone then anywhere else and if you need to change it, it will be cheaper on the phone to do so. All our appliances always seem to work fine and rooms were always clean. There are two hotel chains in one building so make sure you've booked through Hollywood Beach Resort and Cruise Port and not just Hollywood Resort to get the best deals..
The beach bar just to the left of the hotel is a blast and if you keep walking there are a ton of shops, Margaritaville and concerts on the beach ( that is when you walk out the back door of the hotel facing the beach take a left) The view is amazing, beach is amazing and we go back every year. You will have a blast in Hollywood..Pick a day to head to Ft Lauderdale if you need a change but you can probably skip Miami.. Margaritaville has a bar open to the public and a bunch of others along the strip. Across the street is a high end crab restaurant that is def worth a night out.. you watch Bentleys and Ferrari's pull in there all night:)
Me and my girlfriend did the same thing. The hotel has a driver Larry to pick you up at airport great guy. I would check out the hotel and beach first. You can always rent a car later. I stayed 5 days and rented a car for 3. The guy at the service desk an arrange that for you. They will bring you the car to the hotel. Only drawback is you have to pay for parking everywhere you go including hotel. I had a double room which had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and two burner stove top. My room was very nice newly renovated. Have fun
My room had a working microwave and refrigerator. There was also a stove but it didn't work.
The rooms are barely clean, not all of the appliances work, and it's extremely run-down. This being said, you're only in the room long enough to sleep.
Lots of cheap and good breakfast places nearby. You're right on the boardwalk. And Hollywood Beach is one of my favorite places here in Florida.
The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the fact it is on the beach. There is plenty if eating places within walkung distance. The pictures of this property are very deceptive. I can't answer about what is included in a studio, but the room i stayed in had small fridge and coffee majer and microwave.
Ladies, if you have time to change the hotel, I can suggest the hollywood beach tower, just besides the Hollywood beach resort. The hotel is better and well maintained. You don't need to rent a car you can walk around, plenty of restaurants and attractions. Inside the room there is a coffee maker/ mini fridge. The down side is that they only clean the rooms once a week, you have to ask for with extra charge, and same for towels but you can manage to accommodate.
