Traveling the first weekend in Oct. forced schedule change due to the hurricane, wondering if the hotel and/or area was heavily impacted?
Hello and sorry for your change in plans. I would not want to say for sure because I'm not there. The media isn't really showing much footage either but the entire state is in recovery mode. There are still towns with no electricity or internet so it's too soon to say.
Best thing I can advise is call the hotel directly and ask what to expect.
Yes this area was impacted but not to the extent where it will affect your vacation. I think you should be ok. My Family is still living there and the most that they got was a lot of heavy winds and water. This property is right on the beach so I would recommend calling. I do however believe you'll be ok. Enjoy your vacation!
The savoy hotel I wrote about was in Copenhagen Denmark. Not in FL
Sorry I could not be more help
I personally wouldn't take a chance to go anywhere near where the hurricane had reached not just yet. Consider the damage it was left behind, the risk of wild life in area where it shouldn't be, and the cleanleas and illness from the derbies. Plus no one knows how safe these places are after this disaster. Good luck be wise.
