Could you tell me where one goes to get a colectivo to Ek Balam (and the price)? Do colectivos go to any of the other nearby sights? Can one swim in Cenote Zaci? Thanks.
The prices are:
$15 to cenotes X Keken & Samula.
$20 to Chichen Itza.
$40 to Ek Balam.
Prices in pesos, per person one way.
Collectivos to Ek Balam also to cenotes X Keken and Samula, Chichen Itza, bus station and other places are just one block and a few meters away from the hotel.
Sure you can swim in the cenote Zaci, you can do it in all the cenotes, except the sacred cenote of Chichen Itza.
It is a pleasure to answer your questions. Thank you for your interest in visiting.
Ek Balam 44th Street between 37 and 35.
Chichen Itza 39th Street between 44 and 46.
Collective service is used by us locals, it is also used by tourists. Prices are modest throughout the year.
Thanks, Israel, for your prompt reply. Could you give the street numbers where the colectivos congregate? Does the one going to Ek Balam park in the same place as the one for Chichen? I have a good map with all of the street numbers, so that info would be quite helpful. Oh, and are there still colectivos in low season (when I will be there) even though there are not as many tourists? Or do they just turn into taxis and raise their prices accordingly? Thanks so much.
