I am looking for somewhere different to try with my parents in law (on Easter Sunder evening), who prefer to eat in a quiet pub/restaurant. Are there some nice quiet tables or is this generally quite a lively/noisy pub to eat in?
Well I would not regard The Boot & Slipper as a noisy pub at all. We have often had family meals there as it is by way of being our "local", and have never been disturbed by other diners (or drinkers). I would recommend reserving a table and you could ask for a quiet one when you do so. There is an area where private parties sometimes take place, but if there is not one under way when you want to go you could ask to sit in there.
It's a family pub, and I imagine on Easter Sunday it'll be very busy. Probably not the serenity you're looking for. A great place, I go there often. Good food and service. But maybe not the quietest on busy evenings.
