Avista Resort Questions & Answers

Ohio

My wife & I (both 81) have been to Myrtle Beach a number of times; once as recent as last year; first time we've been to North Myrtle Beach. we liked NMB & plan on staying there again. Checked your facility & were impressed until we read about bed bugs in some reviews. Do you have a bed bug infestation ? regards, Gene ( Eugene ) Oxender

Thank you for your inquiry! We do not have and infestation. While I would love to say that we have never had to deal with them, they are an unavoidable issue in the travel industry. With people from all over the world traveling and stopping at countless locations, they tend to find their way in to hotels and motels all over the world. Please know that in the event a guest suspects to have an issue, we have a professional pest service come in to inspect and treat if necessary. We also take preventative steps to help keep these unwelcome visitors at bay.

Belive me when I say if I thought there were any type of bugs in the bed with me I would no be staying at the Avista. That's one of the first things I check when I stay at any type of hotel or resort. The sheets on the bed come all the way off before I even unpack. This place was very clean. I was very impressed. like he said I'm sure this can be an issue for any vacation spot, but the fact that they are quick to address the problem speaks volumes for the owners and management.

We have stayed at Avista probably 10 times in the last couple of years and have never seen any bugs at all, let alone a bed bug. Avista is great, the location is amazing and North Myrtle Beach is a wonderful place to visit. I'm actually packed and we're headed that way again tomorrow morning for the 4th of July.

I've stayed at Avista five or six times and have never seen anything like that, not even a bug. It is always clean.

If you are worried about the bed bugs, which we where too, you can go to Lowes and buy a Bed Bug Travelers test kit. You place it under the mattress. We also bought bed bug spray with us.
