(Westin Luau) Some of your reviews are good and some are terrible. We have a family of 10 coming in 2018 and I'm having a hard time choosing which Luau to attend!!Have you made any improvements since these bag reviews came out ??
It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for more traditional Luau with a pig. I have been to 3 different Luau. This year we did Wailele Polynesian Luau. Their was 9 of us in our group . We all absolutely loved it. It was funny the food was great. Last year we did Old Lahaina. It was nice but not what we were looking for. We felt it was more talking than dancing . They did not have Fire Dancers.
It really is about what you're looking for in a Luau.
Old Lahaina: no fire knife dance, great food, stage set in the middle and tables around it, private small village type setting
Hyatt Luau: fire knife dance, great food, banquet style tables, beachfront
Royal Lahaina Luau: great value, great food, fire knife dance, banquet style tables, beachfront
Wailele Luau: amazing fire knife dance, great food, round tables, beachfront
I've gone to all of these luau.
We went in June, 2017 and enjoyed the food and show, however, the setting does not allow for a good airflow so we were very hot!! no breeze at all. I think I would recommend a different luau.
The show is great food is meh! All the rave is about the old Lahaina luau.
We were there just a few weeks ago. I actually left 1/2 way through. I did not find it enjoyable. The host m/mc was very difficult to understand. After I left my husband said the ending with the fire was good. There is no roasted pig that they bring out. It's just a big buffet (mediocre food) and a not so great show in my opinion. For the price they charge I was very disappointed.
If you expect a touristy experience and lots of average buffet food in a busy location, then it's a good option. If your expectations are high quality food and service, you will be disappointed.
I was there two weeks ago. Definitely don't book the Westin Luau- it wasn't an authentic seeming cultural experience at all. It was so bad we left right after eating. Would be a big waste of money. I wish we'd attended the Old Lahaina or Feast at Lele instead.
I agree with prosailortim. Try old Lahaina luau instead. The Westin is a waste of time and money.
