I just booked a room for my son and me. I requested a quiet room. Would that be on one of the upper floors?
Also, I read a review about breakfast yogurt having only artificial sweeteners. I eat yogurt daily, but am allergic to artificial sweeteners. Will there be plain yogurt on offer? Or fruit yogurt with real sugar? Thank you for responding.
Rooms facing the back are quieter as they face an office building across an alley. As for yogurt, you won't find what you want at this hotel but there are two food shops on Varick around the corner as you head south on Varick. Or you can go north on Varick and there is an 'Essen market that has many yogurt parfait's made to order. And remember, this is Manhattan! Chelsea Market is close to the 8th street stop off the subway. Bleecker Street and Carmine have many specialty shops for food. You may need to fill your ice container to store your yogurt if you have to have it every morning. Chalk Farm Kitchen is just up the street as well with their farm to table food.
Only artificially sweetened yogurt when I stayed there in June, 2016. (Last week.)
Higher floors are quieter. Cityview rooms (higher prices, possibly) are also quieter.
A cityview room on a high floor would be quietest. However, NY is rather intrinsically noisy.
I would request to be higher up and on the back side of the hotel. Watts can be noises in the morning and evening.
If you're up for a bit of a walk, there is Chobani Cafe in soho if you're looking for more yogurt options.
cancel this room and go elsewhere. This is a dreadful hotel.
We stayed on the 15th floor and it was very quiet. The hotel in general was very quiet . We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as there are so many amazing fresh fruit and smoothie places around with much more choice . Have a lovely stay
Higher room is great. I had one on back side of hotel and it was quiet. There is a roof terrace that is nice to enjoy the city views and some chairs to sit and relax. It was October when I was there and it was windy!
As far as breakfast is concerned... I have no idea about what kind of yogurt they have it how it is sweetened. They had a nice selection of breakfast options but if you need something specific you may want to get it at a nearby store.
'Essen is just up the street. Salads, sandwiches fruit etc. and I'm sure they must have yogurt.
I've stayed on both upper and lower floors in this hotel and both were fairly quiet (if you open the window you will hear traffic). The only yogurt I remember them having for certain is Yo Plait flavored ones--not sure what is in it for sweeteners but there is a convenience store around the corner, then across the street on 6th Ave (really close by) where you could probably buy some.
Thanks again. I'll request an upper floor room and good to know there are food options nearby.
