Port Discovery Children's Museum Questions & Answers

Virginia Beach, Virginia

I went there several years ago and I remember a tunnel that was very small and completely dark. I am trying to give my friend details but I can't remember what it was for and if it is still there. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

It was in the mystery house part. You used to climb through the washing machine and come out in a shower drain. It's now blocked off where you can't climb through it anymore.

I think it's the Egyptian area.

I agree with the above posters. In the Egyptian exhibit one area was "darker" (not a tunnel), I used my flashlight on my phone. We visited this past summer. It was a FUN and BUSY trip!

My 8 year old says no dark tunnels in port discovery museum. There is a dark long slide alright in the central climbing area ...might that be it

Are u sure it wasn't the tight dark air vents in the spy museum in Washington DC?

There is an exhibit about ancient Egypt that has a small dark passage. Also, the center climbing apparatus may have a few dark passages. I don't know for certain though, because our kids were the only ones who went in there.

My daughter remembers a number of small tunnels from our August visit, but none of them were completely dark.
