Depends what time you get to BIA (airport north of Colombo) if it's at night or early morning would say it might take you just over 2 hours. You need to get the airport expressway first get off in Colombo and then get on the Colombo outer circular ring road that joins the southern expressway. During the day time add an additional 45 mins for the part where you get off the expressway in Colombo and joining the outer circular ring road. Unfortunately the ring road is due to complete next year so a bit of bother around that part of the journey.

Food wise I would just say go for Bed and Breakfast if you are staying at this place. A lot of local places to eat out around a perimeter of 1 mile. Hope this is helpful. Recommend spending at least one late afternoon( after 3.30) at the Galle Fort 20 minute drive from the Hotel. A lot to see. The fort can get a bit too hot during the day time.

How long is a piece of string?

It takes about 2 hours to get from Colombo airport to the hotel depending on traffic and it will cost what it costs - the hotel have a few options, or you can just get a taxi from the airport.

How much do you eat and how much do you drink? Seriously - that is a ludicrous question. Main courses worked out about £6 and a beer was about £3 in the hotel. You can get much cheaper outside, but the hotel food was really very good, we rarely found better outside.
