Wonderful German food in sunny Mexico. Big place, mostly outdoor courtyard with big trees. They have lunch buffets and the big draw is 2 for 1 dinners on Monday and Tuesday. Make reservations for sure. Local guitar wizard "Martin" performs on those evenings with great music and vocals at a conversational level.

One cannot describe this place. It is located in famous director, John Huston's old house and is decorated with amazing things from all over the world. Most amazing of all are the two women who run it. Anne and Lydia do everything themselves and serve the most eclectic and wonderful meals. The dishes here are pretty unique and exclusive to Uncommon Grounds.

This place started as a small take out to serve the people who got tired of waiting to get into Cafe de Olla next door. Now they are a bustling enterprise with tables inside and out. They do pastor tacos and it is neat to watch the cook slice off the meat from the rotating spit. Good tacos and they were 10 pesos in spring of 2015.

This is the touristy part of PV. From the ocean up to the Rio River. The south end of the malecon ends there and many of the great restaurants and entertainment events are to be found here. Lots of shops and services of all kinds are located in the zone. Some very nice art galleries are available. It's always bustling with activities, theatres and show bars abound. Plenty of live performances take place here. At the East end, nearer the river is where the big produce markets are located. It is just so much fun to go down to Olas Altas street and people watch. You can immerse yourself into the culture and take a walk up Basillo Badillo street. You'll find almost any kind of entertainment.

This wonderful boardwalk runs from the Rosita Hotel in the north to the sands near the Tropicana Hotel. It's a terrific walk with restaurants, shops, nightclubs, bars and sculptures, both sand and bronze. You will walk past enormous condominium projects and and vast lawns. You will walk over the bridge that crosses the river and island to the new pier always with the ocean beside you displaying activities and boats of all kinds. The scene changes in the evening to food vendors and more local folks with their children. It's cooler with the ocean breezes and the clubs are roaring to life in their area. Sunday evening is not to be missed. That's when the local residents come out to spend the evening with family and friends. Every one from young lovers, arm in arm, young couples with the cutest little kids and whole families come out to take advantage of the food vendor's wares. From corn on the cob to amazing cakes and toys for the kiddies. It's wall to wall people and it's wonderful.

The unique architecture is what makes this church special. The enormous crown on the top is apparently unmatched anywhere. Always lots of picture takers and vendors surrounding the front. It's really worth seeing and capturing a souvenir photo.

The marina is not what it used to be, but still a nice place to visit. You'll see some very impressive boats and some nice little shops and restaurants. It's pleasant to stroll along the waterway and check out the sights. You can see the cruise ships there too. The golf course is next door.

Rather spectacular and somewhat controversial, this new pier attracts thousands every day. It is lit up at night and is very pretty. The street leading down to it has been turned into a pedestrian mall and it's a pleasant space. The famous Archie's Wok is on this street.

Another great upstairs hang out spot for winter Mexicans. Big horseshoe bar to meet and chat with fellow vacationers. The tables along the railing offer a wonderful view of the activities on Olas Altas street, which is always busy and entertaining. The food is cooked in a open kitchen at the top of the stairs and it's very good. Prices are good too and they had beer in the daytime for 15 pesos. You'll love this place.

Now located by the big park on Cardenas, this long time favourite hang out has lost none of it's charm. Lots of comfy chairs to lounge in while checking out the books for sale or trade and the food is better than ever with a fairly extensive menu. Lots of choice in coffees as well. A favourite is the frapachino with a scoop of ice cream in it. Cakes and pastries to die for and some nice tables outside as well. They have a happy hour.
