To embrace the local spirit, nothing can be better than starting the day with a coffee alongside a 'tarte tropezienne' in the café that actually created the famous dessert. Stroll slowly down the streets of Saint Tropez with a cream-filled tart in hand and enjoy the morning sun and the sounds of the village waking up to a new day.
The port should be your starting point in Saint Tropez. It is a busy place and at the same time, one that offers great views. Enjoy walking along the mall to the lighthouse and stay awhile to watch the boats entering the port. You can also take a moment to sunbathe. Walk behind the mall for the view of the Maures mountains and the open sea. Stroll further along and take a closer look at the big sparkling yachts along the way to the capitainerie and pay visit the Annonciade museum.
Stay for the lunch in one of the small restaurants surrounding the port and enjoy the view of the busy village. I like Vecchio Porte for its location, but also for the seafood pastas, and salads. Order a glass of rosé and enjoy the sunny terrace, or stay in and admire the pleasant interior and very welcoming service.
After you have enjoyed lunch, expend some calories by walking up to the Citadelle. The museum will bring you up to date with Saint Tropez history and offers a breathtaking panorama.
When returning to the village from the Citadelle, stop at the famous Senequier for an ice-cream (the house specialty) or a coffee at the red table! Some say it is overpriced, but you are in Saint Tropez! It is an experience more than just an ice cream.
If Senequier seems a bit too fashionable, try this new Saint Tropez spot. Barbarac has dozens of ice cream and sorbet flavors, including some very creative ones!
Get out of the busy village center and pay a visit to Chapelle Sainte-Anne to experience the calm, natural splendour. Enjoy the sunset with the view of the yellow town roofs on to the magic sea. Have a short walk and enjoy this very romantic place.
At Le Sporting you can enjoy dinner in the very heart of Saint Tropez village. Savor the view of place de Lices and the Petanque players while you indulge in excellent French food.
Plage de Pampelonne is a must — after all, you are in Saint Tropez for its seaside and beaches. Pampelonne is definitely the most famous and the most beautiful in Saint Tropez. You can spend time sun tanning or head for beach activities such as kitesurfing or volleyball. Take a long walk along the beach, relax on one of the sun lounges, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
A very special place where you can enjoy a cocktail or a delicious meal after a morning spent in the sun. You can even get a massage, relax on one of the sun lounges, or do a spot of shopping in the store.
If staying on the beach is not something you fancy, grab your hiking shoes and walk to one of the most amazing views of the French riviera. The Cap Taillat is a wonderful natural spot and the walk there offers great sights all along way.
If you want a real Saint Tropez experience for dinner, Club 55 is the place to be! A rustic beach setting with amazing views and a very high chance of a celebrity spotting.
Spend a day driving to the villages around the busy Saint Tropez seaside! Start with a walk around the old Ramatuelle. Explore the quaint streets and small local shops while enjoying the breathtaking views.
Famous French actor Gerard Philipe (Fanfan the Tulip) considered Ramatuelle his 'safety blanket' — the place where he could find peace and serenity. He is buried at Ramatuelle cemetery, according to his last wish.
A little further up is this real hidden gem. Gassin is just at the top of the hill and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Saint Tropez bay and the surrounding hills. A breathtaking experience and a very nice and traditional village that has not yet been discovered by many tourists.
Gassin offers a fine dining experience while maintaining a very welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy a very special dinner with an amazing view as the sun sets.
If you prefer to go for something a little simpler but still delightful, Le Point de Vue allows you to enjoy a great view along with a traditional meal.
