3 Days in Saint Tropez

Exclusively commissioned by TripAdvisor

Found this guide helpful

It is true that Saint Tropez is in its splendor during summer. This is when you can meet the stars in one of the cafes surrounding Place des Lices and see the sails of the most imposing yachts. Yet, at the same time, when you visit in autumn or winter, you can feel a sense of authenticity and enjoy the calm atmosphere, and spring brings the Voiles de Saint Tropez traditional regatta and the perfect time to hike on the boardwalks. Saint Tropez is a very enjoyable place to be all year round! In three days you can visit most of the places of interest and enjoy the Provençal lifestyle. This guide includes a visit to the city, a day trip to nearby villages, as well as a day of beach activities at the famous Plage de Pampelonne.

Anna S's City Tips

  • Saint Tropez has one of the most beautiful landscapes — get your camera ready and take a number of postcard type pictures to share with your friends.
  • Saint Tropez is no doubt the center of your visit, but you can take a ride to nearby villages: Grimaud, Gassin, and Ramatuelle are real hidden gems. And you can stop at a vineyard for a bottle of rosé.
  • The last weekend of October makes Saint Tropez the place to be — all of the fashion shops do end of season sales and you have an incredible opportunity to buy Prada or Dior at lower prices.
  • Most people generally get to Saint Tropez by car. Parking places are scarce in the center, but there is an opportunity to park at the port, and most hotels offer private parking.

To embrace the local spirit, nothing can be better than starting the day with a coffee alongside a 'tarte tropezienne' in the café that actually created the famous dessert. Stroll slowly down the streets of Saint Tropez with a cream-filled tart in hand and enjoy the morning sun and the sounds of the village waking up to a new day.

The port should be your starting point in Saint Tropez. It is a busy place and at the same time, one that offers great views. Enjoy walking along the mall to the lighthouse and stay awhile to watch the boats entering the port. You can also take a moment to sunbathe. Walk behind the mall for the view of the Maures mountains and the open sea. Stroll further along and take a closer look at the big sparkling yachts along the way to the capitainerie and pay visit the Annonciade museum.

Stay for the lunch in one of the small restaurants surrounding the port and enjoy the view of the busy village. I like Vecchio Porte for its location, but also for the seafood pastas, and salads. Order a glass of rosé and enjoy the sunny terrace, or stay in and admire the pleasant interior and very welcoming service.
