About Madison S
Lives in London, United Kingdom
Since Sep 2014
Hello! I'm Maddie- a native NYer whose Wanderlust has taken her abroad again and again. Having lived in six countries, and visiting others for school, work, leisure, and sport, I've adopted many localities, and am an admirer of a great many more. An avid scholar of language and culture, I hope to keep expanding my travel repertoire, and sharing great stories with the rest of the travel community. To give you some background on my travels, I spent months each year since childhood in Old Montreal, where part of my family lives. Summers were spent visiting folks in Ft. Lauderdale and L.A. My first big trip outside of the US on my own was to Australia & New Zealand at 12- I caught the bug early! I then moved to Japan where I studied for part of high school & uni. I am very familiar with Japanese cities, Sapporo and Osaka especially. Some of my favourite travel destinations include Goreme, Dubai, Marrakech, and Queenstown. (Plans for 2015 include China & Uganda!) Nice to meet you!

Downtown Disney is a commercial hub and shopper's paradise where you can find everything from jewelry to toys to all manner of curiosities. While this may not be the place to shop for clothes, the funky, energetic area includes candy shoppes, tea stores, cigar emporiums, and much more.
Located in the historic Packing District, The Packing House is a foodie's dream. Its massive Food Hall sells local ware and fare, with kiosks throughout the venue that can be visited before or after a pop into the gardens and picnic grounds. The Packing House features live music and a number of rest areas. It's great for a locally sourced meal, as well as food-based souvenirs.
The Anaheim Plaza is a hub for big-name affordable stores. Featuring contemporary well-priced options such as Forever 21, TJ Maxx, and Walmart, this shopping center offers discount shoppers bang for their buck.
Located on the Center Street Promenade, the Anaheim Farmer's Market is well stocked with locally sourced farm produce and excellent food and drink stalls. It's a wonderful place to stop by for a meal, and to pick up snacks for the duration of your trip.
The Anaheim GardenWalk features a number of quirky shops, including Geeky Mamas collectibles, Harley-Davidson, and Kensington Luggage. With waterfalls and artwork, GardenWalk also offers plenty of photo ops or rest areas for those who aren't so into shopping.
The Anaheim Indoor Market place features shops with a Latin flare. Here you'll find local brands (in cosmetics, home goods, gifts, and much more) that cannot be found elsewhere, alongside restaurants that serve up some of the tastiest Mexican home-cooking around. This is also a central location for Quiceanera clothing and bridal accessories, and if you're into alternative medicine, its many acupuncturists are waiting with doors open.
The Outlets at Orange may be a bit of a drive from your resort, but the shopping here is well worth the trek. The Outlets offer impressive discounts on major brands such as the Gap, Calvin Klein, DKNY, and American Eagle. Stores like Game Stop, Bath and Body Works, and Kay Jewelers complement the large number of clothing stops, while restaurants, cafes, and a cinema, mean you can make an entire day of your visit to The Outlets.
For through-and-through discount outlet shopping, try the Citadel Outlets. Featuring major brands like Levi's and Columbia (and even a Disney outlet store), this outdoor shopping center is worth the drive. It also offers a food court, in case all that bag-laden walking makes you hungry.
A transit center that connects Amtrak, Greyhound, Megabus, Metrolink, Anaheim Resort Transit, and Disneyland tram services, may seem like a surprising place to shop, but ARTIC also features an ever-growing array of restaurants, markets, and retail spaces. The site is also architecturally impressive, with bright, futuristic, LEED Platinum designs.
