Great Food,Great Great Shopping

Kuala Lumpur has a bit for everybody. Plenty of great food,5 star to backpacker hotels and some great history, Coming from the airports to the city get the KLIA Express. It services both airports for approx $10 US. Runs from right inside the airport, porters to help. It is the quickest way to KL CEntral. 30 mins.Fast, clean, comfortable. Indeed when in KL there is plenty of different trains, a good way to get around. The hop on/off bus runs al day and will take you right around KL

roego's City Tips

  • The Bird Park and botanical gardens are good, but always try and make sure you dress for the sultry climate and hats , umbrella, and sunscreen are a must.
  • Putra Jaya is the government centre, a littleway out but worth a visit. The buldings areall diiferent styles and a lot of DIFFERENT bridges over the lakes.. Worth a trip.
  • A different area to vist is Little India again packed with smaller shops(100's) and Indian food. 2 of the best indian restaurants are The Betel Leaf near china Town and Passage Through India(near Bukit Bintang.,
  • Bukit Bintang is to me the number one area to stay in KL.The hotels range acroos all classes and some great prices also. The shopping centres Pavillion, Sungai Wang, Times Square. The computer/phones/camera centre is Low Yat Plaza. Are all close together. The food around here is also tops. And a pleasant, airconditioned , overhead walkway runs from the Pavillion down to KLLCC. Another absolutely tremendous shoppung centre and the what is now a becoming a legend, Twin Towers. This walk is about 15 minutes but as said aircon all the way..
  • Chinatown is a cramped but good shopping attraction and just nearby not crowded is Central Market.
  • Beware of the taxi drivers who park around off the rank. They charge savagely. Always check how much first.
  • Make sure you try the hawker food
  • Most of the hotels already ad a 10% service charge but the smaller restaurants do not and do not expect tips. Indeed many smaller just tell you a total.

Price is good, position is great.3 minutes walk and you are in the middle of Bukit Bintang.\15 nutes to Chianatown. 10 minutes to Puda Raya bus dstation.Busses from here go all over Malaysia and also interstate. Get the VIP busses, only 3 seats across and very cheap.
