Palms is a very trendy off the strip hotel. Personally, this is one of my favorite hotels to stay at! The rooms are clean and up to date. I love that you actually are able to open the windows/sliding door during the summer months.
Marc Savard's show is one of those that is successful from people just like you and me! He is so quick at one-liners and is a very personable guy. I'm glad the show has had so much success and definitely recommend everyone going, even if you don't want to be hypnotized, you will have a blast!
The Wetlands Park is one of those places that you find yourself asking whether or not you are actually in the middle of a desert. There are so many trails to check out, so much wildlife and water!! I highly recommend everyone checking out the park at least once while visiting.
Encore is one amazing hotel to stay at! The service and staff at this hotel is awesome and the rooms are exquisite.
If you have never been to a Brazilian eatery like this, you are in for a treat! Come hungry and let your taste buds be amazed! There are so many different kinds of food to try.
The Palazzo is a known gem on the strip. You really will feel as though you are somewhere other than the USA. This is one of those hotels where you want to look up, look up often! The artwork is beautiful and out of this world! Be sure to also check out the shops along the canal too.
The Strip is obviously the #1 reason why people come to Las Vegas. If you've never been here before, don't plan to see it all in just one day. Even though it may look small - the amount of time you will spend in each hotel is amazing. Each hotel has it's own special flare about it and almost all of the hotels have unique areas to check out, even if you're not a guest at their hotel.
Looking for a quick but delicious Mexican meal? Stop over at Bonito for some of the best Mexican food!
This is one awesome restaurant! We did the special where you get an appetizer, salad, main course AND dessert for $49. This was definitely the best deal and you will not leave hungry. This restaurant definitely has an "Old Vegas" feel and there is usually live music.
I usually go to BJ's with friends - this is definitely a "local" hangout spot. The food choice is awesome and never disappoints.
Want to take your kids somewhere other than the strip? Check out this mini golf course located just off the strip. Prices are reasonable (sometimes they have a Groupon deal). Yes, this is all KISS theme and loud music with black lights. It is a nice break from the strip!
The Aria has the perfect location in the strip - right in the middle! The rooms are nothing too fancy, don't let the tech thing make you think it'll be some state of the art hotel room. Its's a nice place to stay while visiting!
While in Las Vegas, one must visit Fremont Street - this is where Vegas was born! The area isn't as up to date as the strip is but good prices and fun! There is almost always live entertainment and things to do at night!
Shucks is definitely a local place to eat. This place has some of the best seafood around town and large portion sizes.
Absinthe is not for those who do not have a sense of humor! This show is entertaining and risky! You will either have a blast or be embarrassed when walking out!
Don't want to pay the strip prices? This hotel is definitely a win for that! The rooms are fairly new and the strip is literally 5 minutes away! The airport is right across the street but you will not hear the planes.
Looking for more than just hotels and crowds? Red Rock is a win for that! Yes, there is an entrance fee but you will find something awesome throughout the 13 mile drive! There are numerous trail heads, rock climbing and everything else in between.
Cravings offers a wide variety of food for a reasonable price. I find myself going here quite often when on the strip.
One of the top things you must do while in Vegas is watch the Bellagio Fountains during the night. Yes, they do also go on during the day but are just beautiful at night! The show is free and you just walk up to the railing area and wait for them to start between every 15 to 30 minutes.
This buffet is one of the best on the strip! You will not leave disappointed and it is surprisingly reasonably priced!
Earl of Sandwich will fill your stomach with some delicious-ness! This eatery is popping up around the strip and I'm so glad because it is very tasty! Not the cheapest sandwiches, but delicious!
If you have time, make a point to visit the Pawn Shop. Don't go out of your way though, the stars of the show will not be there and you will be amazed by the continuous amount of crowds in the store!
I recommend everyone go on the High Roller once while in Vegas. The ride takes about 30 minutes to go around and gives some of the best views of the area!
The Hoover Dam is about a 30 minute drive out of Vegas. If you've never seen the Dam, I would highly recommend visiting! You don't have to purchase a tour however it is something cool to see and learn about! There is a small visitors shop and restaurant as well.
Looking to escape the summer heat? Mount Charleston is the answer! This is about an hours drive north of the Vegas strip. You will be amazed at how the desert scenery soon feels like you are in Colorado or another state. Definitely plan to spend the entire day here, between checking out the resorts and numerous trails to check out!
Don't make the mistake I made, plan to be here all day long! This place is seriously awesome! There is so much to see and learn. Take the time to go through all of the museums (included in admission) and pay the few extra dollars to check out the Butterfly Exhibit!
This state park is a hidden gem - most people drive right past it heading to Red Rock and have no idea this exists! There is an awesome little lake, trail heads and so much more!
This trail features some awesome views of Lake Mead. It is a very easy walk while being fascinating with the tunnels for trains that were used to carry materials to the Hoover Dam!
Container Park features some awesome architecture (storage containers used for building space). There are so many awesome local businesses to check out and support while enjoying the area!
This park is one of my favorites! There is a little bit of something for everyone - playground, grassy area, walking trails, and hiking path that leads to one awesome view of the strip!
Talk about killer views of The Strip! This PAR 3 golf course is a great place to cure your golf addiction. The course is well maintained and is a real hit with both locals and tourists.
Downtown Summerlin is a brand new, super trendy area with so many shops and eateries to keep the entire family busy!
Valley of Fire is about an hour out of the Las Vegas area and I must say, it is worth the drive! You will have to pay to enter the park, stay the whole day, bring food and water and you will have a blast! There is so much to see and so many trails offered!
