Boy Scout Tree Trail

A classic Redwoods hike to an enormous old growth redwood.

1. Trailhead Signs

Well marked trailhead signs along the road.

2. Old Growth Redwoods

The beginning of old-growth redwoods - they get bigger as you go further into the forest.

3. Open Understory

In the more mature stands, you find a very open understory of ferns and sorrel.

4. Boy Scout Tree

The Boy Scout Tree (named for a famous photo of an entire troop of boy scouts standing in front of it) is just off the side of the trail.

5. Fallen Giant

If you wonder what the sound of a redwood falling the forest is, keep wondering.
