Staying here means feeling like a house guest of the amazing, hospitable Zeynep. She organised our day trip to Chios including a car and driver, drove us around the town for an hour to familiarise us with Alacati, dropped us at a recommended restaurant for dinner, picked us up afterwards. All this in just the first three hours of our visit. Later in the evening I accompanied her to a bonfire festival in town.
Sedrili Ev is a charming house, with a living room with numerous seating alternatives, tables outside by the pool and past the bar - guests are welcome in all these areas. Our upstairs room, Turkuaz, was spacious and overlooked the garden and swimming pool. The bathroom is spacious (shower) with all the usual amenities, including both large bottles of liquid soap, etc and also small individual bottles.
It is a level three block walk to the walking street, the benefit of the location is that it is very quiet especially at night.
The included village breakfast is a tasty sampling of fresh local products and ingredients. One of the mornings I counted the dishes in front of us - 22 and then four more dishes of local specialties were brought to the table! Late afternoon, tea, cake and biscuits were served.
Our entire visit to Alacati was enhanced by staying at Sedrili Ev and Zeynep - by sharing her home, friends and family, village and region with us, we have left with golden memories and a desire to return.
The perfect choice for beautiful Alacati, highly recommend.
