The resort is super convenient to the Sun Bear Sanctuary and the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. We had no trouble getting Grabs at any stage to go further afield. We stayed in the superior chalet, and it was well appointed and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including helping us get a treasured possession home which was left behind in our room. The setting is very peaceful. The restaurant food provides a good range of options and at reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Not sure why getting such a high rating here.
Shower water pressure is so low and not hot.
No signage of hotel. People might easily missed the turning.
No tv in room.
No wifi in room.
Unless you love nature so much and would like to stay away from the digital world. This is the place for you.
Wow, what an experience. I stayed in a bungalow with a lovely bathroom and even a private outdoor shower. The balcony caught the sunset and the room was spacious and comfortable. But the highlight has to be staff. The bar tender was so friendly and engaging and helped me assess where to travel to next. There’s also a staff member with a lovely voice and you can hear her singing to herself inside the kitchen. Wish she would do a live show in the evenings! It’s just a happy place to be.
Just two things to note. 1) the pool is hot, like a jacuzzi. Not refreshing at all after a long, sweaty day. And 2) the mosquitoes are out of control. The hotel really should put mosquito nets in the bedrooms, it’s the jungle after all! Take lots of potent insect repellent.
I stayed 4 nights in a standard chalet. It was so peaceful (although animal noise is always present in the jungle) and the layout ensures a lot of privacy. Comfortable bed, lots of space, 2 bottles of water a day, kettle and hairdryer in room. Restaurant area is spacious and well laid out. Food is fantastic (people came from the next resort over!) and the free breakfast included fruit, eggs, beans, waffles, rice and noodles. There was a grill for toast and the hotdog sausages if you wanted. Pool to cool off in. Staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. 10 mins walk to orangutans and sun bears. I wish I could have stayed longer!
We spent three nights at the resort and loved every minute of it. Room was clean and had everything you needed to enjoy a relaxing time. Great to be able to walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuary. Staff were lovely and friendly in both the restaurant and reception. Breakfast was great but maybe you could invest in a toaster as the charcoal on the bbq was often too cold.
