We had booked a night here before leaving for a 3d/2n trip on the Kinabatangan river. As we were only staying for 1 night, we decided to go for the cheap room in the longhouse and this proved to be a very bad choice. The room was very basic, and the building very very noisy so we had a very bad night. The chalets looked much better though and maybe we would have had a much better experience in a chalet. The setting is lovely as the resort is located in a huge tropical garden. The staff was friendly, but we had a very bad feeling with the owner, Annie, who was very agressive and interested in all the money she could get from us rather than in caring for her guests. So all in all, this is not a place I would go back to as there are much better places in the area. After our Kinabatangan river trip, we stayed in the Paganakan Dii, also in Sepilok. Paganakan Dii is a gorgeous place, on the edge of the jungle, with great views run by very friendly people that I would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for two nights whist in Sepilok to visit the wildlife sanctuary. We had a great time staying here - the gardens are gorgeous, their 'forest trek' really good fun and our 'cabin' on stilts over looking the rainforest for 170RM a night we thought was well worth it. We were greeted with a welcome drink and were very impressed with how amazing the place looks. We found the staff to be very helpful, though as noted by another review it was a walk to the cabin which was a pain with our heavy suitcases, which we were offered no assistance with.
The evening food was delicious and we found the service to be great, but you do have to order it before 4 pm in the afternoon, which is a bit inconvenient if you're out for the day. The breakfast was average, eggs tea and toast, fine but given the amount of fresh fruits that are available in Sabah, it would have been nice to have these for breakfast too. As well as the gorgeous cabins they have a main 'house', which has one dorm room and several double rooms which are a lot cheaper than the cabins and a great budget option, you still get the great location for the sanctuary, the amazing surroundings and the free breakfast.

I would definitely stay here again if we were in Sepilok. It's so close to the park and a really beautiful and well kept place with wonderful views.

We stayed for one night in a chalet. This is one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in during my years of travelling. Forest Edge has a quirky 'kitch' vibe about it, which is amazing considering the location! For example the chalets have outdoor showers as well as an indoor shower! The room decor was fantastic and very clean.

Location is great, about a 10min walk to the Orangutan centre.

The bar and restaurant was also a highlight, the lady who I believe is manager was a lot of fun and her menu was great, especially the pineapple chicken curry.

We were expecting something much nicer for the price. The room was fine, small, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was tiny and the shower was on top of the toilet and the bathroom was soaked when we arrived. The shower doesn't drain right so the floor of the bathroom is always wet.

They have a restaurant but the food we bad. It is in a good location but there are better hotels in the area. For half the price it would have been fine.

Stunning grounds, sweet small shallow pool to cool off in between excursions. We upgraded our room, which had a beautiful view of the canopy, nice furnishings, lots of privacy. The only puzzling thing was the bathroom did not match the more luxurious interior. Totally fine, but a bit of a disappointment.
Don't even think about going anywhere else to eat. The restaurant is terrific, very creative menu, and the best food we had on our 5 week trip. Also pretty affordable. The lodge is within walking distance of the Sepilok sanctuary (approx 20 minutes) but it is pretty hot. A taxi might be better advised, particularly if you are visiting in the afternoon.
