Just arrived back from a fabulous week in rhodes could not of asked for better weather.
Hotel was really nice the pool area was amazing.
Throughout the week it was quite as it was the second to last week.
We Lao found that there were more German then English staying which was no problem to us.
The staff were very friendly.
The hotel had a small shop but rather expensive we used the lite shop behind the bus stop across the road from the hotel.
The hotel is in the middle of no where and offers a shuttle bus to Rhodes town for €6 return.
We found the food rather boring and not very warm all week. I found that along of the food had an unpleasant distinctive taste to it.
Over all the room was good with fab views.
I would stay there again.
The staff were very nice, professional and hospitable - we were mainly looked after by Eleni
The bar tender at the poolside, Irini is also very nice
The food is delicious with various of dishes to choose from
The receptionists were helpful in telling us information on how to get around
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so if you're looking to go to town at night, best to get a car rental. There are no restaurants or bar near it so you'll have to just go to the hotel bar where drinks are really expensive.
The hotel is a bit outdated. They need to upgrade their AC because it looks like it's still from the 1980s. It works, but sometimes it's not very reliable.
The pool is freezing cold
There is an access to a private beach BUT you'll have to rent the sun beds for 3.50 euros
We found a cockroach in the toilet - this means the cleaners has to be mindful of that
Wifi is only free in the communal areas. If you want wifi in your room, you'll have to pay
The spa - we were given a free 15 mins massage voucher however, we were not told that it's only valid for the first 2 days of our stay. Since we got busy exploring Rhodes, we were not able to use it.
I stayed at the Kresten Palace between 28th September until 5th October. I couldn't really fault anything, It was lovely and clean, the pool was fabulous and the gardens stunning. It is set on a hill so if you have problems walking this may not be the place for you, although there is plenty of wheelchair access. There is a small beach (private to guests at the Kresten Palace and Kresten Royal Villas) which is soft shingle. Take swimming shoes as there are quite a few rocks to negotiate before getting out into the open sea. Also, if you are at the Kresten Palace there is a 3 Euro charge for sunbeds.
Food was excellent, plenty of variety. I was on half board (no all inclusive at this hotel), drinks were a little expenseive. Also beware, they put bottles of water on your table, but you are expected to pay for them at 2 Euros per bottle (1 litre).
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and you can use the facilities at the Kresten Royal Villas (except the all inclusive). I spent most of my days there as I had family in that hotel.
Defo not 4 star more like 2 , paid for a sea view got a family room 3 blocks away and what felt like under ground no view, complained next day and was given a much better actual sea view , pool freezing , sun beds dated , food appauling , we didn't eat there, middle of nowhere so had to taxi or bus which 4 trips is time consuming and pricey, air con barely worked at all in both rooms we had , NO tea or coffee in rooms just kettle and cups, fridge useless , sunbeds dated , wasps attack when eating everybody outside , staff in bar fantastic tho best thing about kresten palace , we will not be returning
Not complaining it’s our own fault for not looking into it more, food is not labelled, same things nearly every evening, put in a room that was not good and took 3 days to move us, drinks at bar are very expensive hotel really in the middle of nowhere, pool is freezing in the 1st week we were there the whole week there was 1 person that went in the pool and the 2nd week there were just kids in there, only saw them jet wash the pool drains once in 11 days, shower in rooms are great only thing is they leak all over the bathroom floor and after me and my husband both used the shower the water came up through the drain aswell in the bathroom, bath mat was supplied 1st evening then never saw it again, this hotel is more catered for Germans than British people you are really in the middle of nowhere with just a small shop down the road there are a couple of bars but we caught a bus as the walk back is up a steep hill and pavements are non existent, the staff were very nice no complaints about that I would just not rate this as a 4 star hotel maybe a 2+, oh and you do get charged for towels to take to the pool area.
The weather was great the sunbeds are always available but very old and some are ripped and like I said you couldn’t use the pool as it was so cold even with the weather really hot
Thankyou for your hospitality Kresten Palace but I would not return here and would not advise anybody who asks to book here simply for the location and the extras that you have to pay for and also the star rating that is definitely not 4 star
