Room perfect, location stunning, this was a gem of a find. We booked a package and Marc and Celine could not have made us feel more welcome! The arranged the trips to suit us, the picnics the provided were more than we could manage and the fact there was a kitchen/lounge area next to our room and a terrace we could use was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed for 2 nights recently and were in a B&B room at the back of the main building. We were lucky to get a booking as there was only 1 room available. It was a little smaller than we would have liked but we did not have a choice. The sloping ceilings meant that the outer walls were a little low. Everything else was fine. The outstanding thing for me was the amazing breakfasts, best we have had for a long while, crepes, bacon & eggs, fresh fruit smoothies. The hostess Celine is a very busy woman overseeing this property which is substantial and also being down at the Restaurant. When we first arrived we could not find anyone to greet us and show us our room. After some considerable time we tracked her down at the Restaurant. Some signage would help, if it weren't for the pictures on the website, we wouldn't have even known we were at the right place. I would recommend this place to others.
We were lucky enough to spend 4 nights here in July 2015. Owner Marc is the perfect host: he virtually planned our whole itinerary for our stay, (we very much welcomed this), made restaurant reservations for us and even offered to do a load of washing.
Our room was beautiful - a really large family suite for 4 with a separate area for the children's beds, stylishly decorated in a French brocante style with lots of interesting bits and pieces that our 7 year old particularly found quite magical.
Set in a beautiful valley with adjoined businesses also run by the family: a creperie, a little shop, a play area, gardens and shetland pony rides for children. A really fun, welcoming place to visit and great value. We'd love to come back.
Once we pulled up to the hidden gem, we knew we were in the right place. We were seeking a family vacation in Brittany that would not be on the beaten path and would connect us with nature and the French farm life. La Maison des Lamour exceeded our expectations. The location was so beautiful that a fashion magazine was doing a photo shoot on the property. Our children loved the play areas around the Maison and then further down in the river valley. My wife and I appreciated all of the well thought out details and level of style and comfort in our room. The best part of the stay though was the staff. Marc was a wonderful host who ensured all of our needs were met - the best early morning running route, fantastic tips of places to visit in the region (Ploumanach) and a late night dinner when all of the local restaurants and grocery stores were closed. We look forward to our return as the mix of comfort, style, luxury and kindness are unparalleled. Great place for both romance and the end result of much romance -children. It is a bit out of the way but then again Brittany is rather large and this La Maison is centrally located to all of the northern and eastern sights.
La maison des Lamour is lovely B&B. Marc and his wife are super friendly. They provided a delicious breakfast and made reservations for us for dinner. The room (the grey room) is darling and decorated with fabulous antiques. Marc was also kind enough to set up a baby cot for us.
