La Noce was everything that we hoped for in our Tuscan sojourn .
It is a little farm nestled in the hills with lovely views garden and pool. The apartments are high ,beamed and traditional with home comforts and kitchens equipped with every utensil should you get the urge to immerse yourself in oil, pasta and truffle.
Sitting and eating in the garden was a great pleasure looking out over the countryside . Francesca was very accommodating and cooked up a lovely five course dinner on our arrival which we enjoyed in her farmhouse and gave us our urge to learn more about local cuisine and two days later we had a masterclass in her kitchen and all got stuck in making pasta, tortoloni and cooked chicken liver bruschetta while sampling local Prosecco and ate this at supper later!
Francesca organised our trip to a great chateau wine estate and one of our local restaurant dinners which was lovely even though we could not finish the giant Florentine steaks .
We were able to explore easily the picture book countryside and villages in all directions and the local town with its shops is a ten minute drive down the hill but be aware everything shuts between one and five.If you enjoy walking there are lovely woods and hills to climb around La Noce and the farm owns a lot of land where you can roam.
You are only one hour from Florence by main road but we found it fun to wind aimlessly through the lanes and villages where you see the real countryside. A highlight of our stay was a visit to the hill town of Fiesole above Florence where we climbed a steep old street from the town square and ate at a great restaurant overlooking what seemed like the whole country.
We will remember La Noce for lovely evenings sat out among the flowers and fire flies and for the great hospitality of Francesca and her team.
It was lovely .
We always travel to Italy during the summer, and we have enjoyed staying at Agriturismos (they're usually very good), but this was the most disappointing and unprofessional stay we've ever had. Not worth the money! You can find so many other nice places near Chianti other than Londa and la Noce.
Our family went to La Noce di Francesca for a week in August 2016. At check-in, our host was not there. We had to wait for four hours at the farm before she came home at 20 in the evening. As we were travelling with our baby, this was very inconvenient.
Finally we got our apartment on the ground floor, which was very cozy, but lacked proper cleaning. La Noce has three apartments: two on the ground floor and one at the first floor. The house does not have any sound isolation (the light from the apartment on the first floor shines down into the bedroom on the ground floor).
The pool area is very nice, offering a beautiful view of the area. Unfortunately, the area of Londa has a lot of horseflies in August/September, and they would swirl around you when you got up from the pool. We also went for a hike in the area (very good hiking trails if you follow the main road past La Noce a good 20 minutes!), but the horseflies were too aggressive so we had to run back to the car. This might not be a problem earlier in the summer though.
After two nights at la Noce, Francesca had a new check-in: a family of EIGHT people staying in the apartment at the first floor. The level of noise was very exhausting, both night and day. The facilities at la Noce are built for small families, not so many people. Usually Agriturismos takes a maximum of four people per apartment. It is very unfortunate that la Noce takes such large bookings, because the other guests are completely ignored: we could not book dinner, use the washing machine, relax at the pool etc. After two more nights we really needed some sleep, so we had to find another place to stay.
If you decide to book here, make sure you book the apartment on the first floor, the two on the ground floor are bothered with a lot of noise from the apartment above. The house do not have any kind of sound isolation.
We stayed at La Noce di Francesca in October, 2015. After seeing all the sights in Rome, Siena and Lucca, we were welcomed by the beauty and tranquility of this beautiful agriturismo. It was the perfect way to wind down and really appreciate the charm of the Italian countryside. Francesca was a delightful host as she told us the history of the area, gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, and gifted us with her homemade preserves. This is the perfect place for couples and families. The grounds are well maintained with beautiful gardens and a lovely pool. We will definitely return!
We left Francesca's wonderful property today after 4 fabulous days in this mountain top tranquil location.
The haybarn has bee sympathetically converted in to 3 apartments each with its own entrance and garden/terrace.
We went as it is within a 40 minute drive to the Mugello circuit as my boyfriend was going to the MotoGP. It all worked perfectly and we are and drank like kings, we slept like logs and switched off totally. It is very relaxing by the pool and the peace and scenery are in describable.
Restaurants are plentiful - our favourite we went to twice in nearby Rufina, where the food, service and what e were or gorgeous and the bill incredibly low (58 Euros) fir 4 course, prose co and a bottle of wine - thank you Francesca for the recommendation.
We shall return and I would recommend this to anybody seeking Italian food & hospitality close to fabulous restaurants on a moderate budget.
We shall return!
