Highly recommend on this place!!!
Amazing stuff, I just get in and they open a map and explain about allllllllllll the area.. food, market, tracks.
Every bad is like a single room, private and super clean.
My family of 5 (2 adults 3 kids) booked the deluxe quad room for 3 nights. I had booked directly by contacting them via email or line app at 0 9 1 0 8 4 8 3 7 2. Includes breakfast but only managed to eat once as our trips starts earlier than the breakfast time of 7.30am!
Room is huge with private bath and toilet. Is comfortable although heating would have been nice. What impressed me most is Ms Tu's hospitality. Little issues, problems with wifi and not knowing how to use the TV remote is resolved almost immediately. On request, Ms Tu recommended a driver for our side trips which turned out to be a reliable trustworthy one. She also gave very helpful suggestions to our itinery and gave us directions to a money changer (very good rate).
The location of the Minsu is easy to find with googlemap. We took a bus from Taipei. It was a short 10 mins walk from the bus station (interchange). There is a bus stop located nearer the minsu but we didnt know to stop there then.
Easy and cheap bus rides are available to Sun Moon Lake and Formosan Aboriginal Theme park. Ms Tu also sold us tickets to Sun Moon Lake ferry ride at 100NT which is much cheaper than getting it from the ferry terminal. However, tickets to Formosan included a cable car ride to Sun Moon Lake and that would have suffice!
Stayed for 1 night in a single room with shared bathroom. Had a comfortable stay, loved the breakfast. The place was at a convenient location near a 7-11, and within walking distance from the bus station and Puli Wine Brewery.
The owner is a very friendly lady who was very helpful and patient with explaining the directions for me to get to the places I wanted to go to ie. Puli Brewery and the Bus stand to get on the bus to Hehuanshan. She also recommended a great place called Su Ma Ma for dinner.
The dorm area is super quiet at night, which makes any sound seem louder than it is. One may feel that the walls for the single rooms are not sound proofed well, so good luck to you if you have someone who snores as your next door neighbour, which was what happened to me. I slept well at night though, because I needed some light and sound to sleep.
Would definitely stay here again for short visits in future.
We stayed 2 nites in Puli Town Europe Homestay Hotel in early December.
We made a last minute decision to stay in Puli without any idea of any hotel there.
We found this hotel in google search.
We didnt expect much from a hotel which we found in 5 minutes in google search but it didn't really disappoint us much.
The hotel (or homestay as it was known in Chinese) is located in the city center, hiding in a small lane not far from the main road.
It is a small hotel run by a lady owner called Ms.Tu (涂小姐） , assisted by another more senior lady.
The small hotel itself is decorated in European style -- very cosy and very lovely homey feel.
The reception is adjourning to the restaurant/cafe.
To be fair, the rooms are quite old and shabby.
Ms Tu said they have done some refurbishment to the reception and restaurant, and next year will start for the rooms.
We paid NTD1800 for a double bedroom (apx usd57 nett) which can actually accommodate 4 persons -- there are 2 queen beds in this room type.
Breakfast is included in the room price.
Breakfast is very simple with breads , coffee, and typical Taiwanese porridge with different condiments.
Our family has very fond memory with this hotel mainly due to the hospitality of Ms Tu and her assistants.
One of the nite ,we bought a cake and celebrated my father-in-law's 79th birthday in the restaurant.
After that, we sat in the restaurant and enjoyed some relaxing moments over beers which we bought from outside -- the lady owner allowed us to do so.
We walked to nearby restaurants & stalls for dinner -- there are a lot of eateries nearby and Puli is basically a very small town and cheap.
Overall i would recommend this hotel/ homestay as the price is cheap, location in the town center and most of all , the hospitality of the owner.
I hope Ms Tu will renovate the rooms very soon which will make the stay perfect!
