Casablanca is a fantastic guest house in a beautiful peaceful location above a small beach just outside Zipolite.
The 4 suites are on the 2 lower levels. On the terrace above there is a common area with an infinity pool. The owners have a separate apartment above that.
The spacious suites have a king size bed, small dining table & chairs, some seating, a small kitchen with fridge & cooking area on the covered terrace outside which also has a couple of chairs. There is a full width panoramic window with a fantastic view of the ocean.
The suites are equipped to a very high standard and faultless. The owners have thought of everything. There were plenty of hooks for towels & clothes. There were ceiling fans and AC. The main window/door has a mosquito mesh so you can leave it open all night with the AC off or close up with the AC on.
The common area has a covered area with a double day bed, plenty of seating with small tables, a large dining table with chairs, a partially covered infinity pool and an open area with sunbeds.
The beautiful infinity pool is spotlessly clean. It is rare to find such a clean pool.
On the lower middle level there is a deck with a sofa overlooking the small beach and the ocean.
The whole property is clothing optional at all times. Nobody cared whether anyone was fully clothed, in swimming costume or naked. The atmosphere was very friendly & relaxed.
The lovely owners are friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend restaurants, taxis, beaches. (We didn't need them much since everything worked properly).
It was very quiet during the day but there was a communal party on Christmas evening.
They have 3 dogs which were friendly but not annoying.
The little beach is just a few 10s of metres below the hotel but we didn't really use it.
Zipolite itself is about 10 mins walk and involves some steps but it w mostly shaded. It is only partially illuminated at night so you may need a small hand torch or the light on your phone. The locals are very friendly and we never felt nervous at all. We didn't hear of any crime.
The beach in town is about 1 mile wide and entirely clothing optional. There was more nudity at the two ends but some nudity all along. The beach is quiet in the morning and gets busier throughout the day with parties after dark when the beach bars and restaurants fill up. It suddenly gets busier in the early evening when many people arrive to have a drink and watch the sunset.
There are about 15 bars & informal restaurants along the beach and about 20 more along the main street. Most of the restaurants were Mexican or Italian.
For us, the best restaurant was Sal Y Pimiento which had fantastic fish & seafood. A good evening meal for 2 cost about $25-30 exc drinks but you could eat for less.
Our favourite place for brunch was Nomada where they served delicious "gringas" with eggs on the side. There were many places serving a full Canadian style breakfast and you could also have fruit & granola or a Mexican breakfast.
At night, the main street is closed to traffic and occupied by about 100 market stalls selling arts & crafts, clothes & food. About half of these were run by Mexicans and half by young travellers from all over Europe & Latin America.
We loved Casablanca and Zipolite.

This is a small adults only hotel with four suites. The ocean view is spectacular and the space is very quiet. The rooms are spacious and bright with AC and overhead fans. The king beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with an outdoor 4 element gas cook top. All water on the site is purified. The salt water pool and common area are great to to relax in during the day with a good mix of sun or shade. The town of Zipolite is about a 10 minute walk away. The host and hostess are very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend Casablanca for a wonderful relaxing stay.

We found Casablanca on a whim searching for last minute hotels as we arrived to Zipolite. Let me say we are so glad we decided to stop by and stay. Quite place with an incredible view! Double sliding doors in our room opened to create the perfect setting. King size bed was super satisfying after a long drive along with ac and water you can drink from the tap! The infinity pool in the common area is great offering an outstanding view were you will definitely loose track of time! Couple that owns Casablanca are great people, and super friendly. Highly recommend checking in here. Plus they have scooters for rent and room for your car.

Zipolite the hidden nudist beach gem in Mexico! A beautiful beach with AMAZING food. If you find yourself planning a trip to this little bit of paradise in Mexico, look up Casa Blanca. This little 4 room guesthouse is amazing ! A short 15 minute walk up from the beach, and from town. Clean, modern, beautiful pool and AWESOME hosts who made sure our visit was GREAT. Treated UV water from the tap, never got the rumbles once, HOT water, strong WiFi, air conditioning, fridge, king size bed, large rooms, outdoor cook top are some of the unit amenities. Infinity pool, loungers, and outdoor shower round up the common area amenities! Remember this is nudist beach and a clothing optional guesthouse...but so relaxing, we cannot say enough. We have already booked our accommodations back at Casa Blanca for next year! GREAT value for money! Restaurant - Salt and Pepper, on the beach! The most amazing Ceviche !

We have been coming to Zipolite for over a decade and stayed at a myriad of places. That said, we will never have to search for accommodations again. Without a doubt, Casablanca is the absolute best place we have stayed, by a long shot.

Nestled in the hill that borders Zipolite's spectacular beach, Casablanca provides an intimate and private experience within an exclusive enclave. Quiet and serene, Casablanca allows for a romantic getaway, steps to Oaxaca's most beautiful and inclusive beach and access to a small gorgeous, hidden, semi private beach. From your bed you are greeted every morning by a breathtaking vista of the ocean and surrounding hills and Zipolite's finest dining establishments are steps away.

Our Canadian hosts, Sherry and Kelly have designed their Casa to include all the amenities of home, including a well appointed kitchen, a luxurious bathroom (with hair dryer) and a luxuriously comfortable king size bed that will leave you well rested for your daily adventures. On the second tier of the Casa you'll find a spacious common area with sunbeds, a weight room, large communal dining table, darts, a queen size sheltered day bed (for reading and whale watching) and a pool. The midsized pool, with its overflow waterfall is gorgeous and the perfect place to lounge as you sip your cocktail and look out over the incredible pacific vista.

Proprietors, Sherry and Kelly live on premises so you never have to go far to get the scoop on the best restaurants, tours and activities (beyond soaking up the ample sun). Their warm and friendly dispositions provide an inclusive family atmosphere which made us feel like we were important guests in their home. Just to be clear, this is not a resort hotel with staff members (outside of the folks that clean the rooms and provide laundry services) . Kelly and Sherry take pride in providing personal service to their guests, which is what makes staying at Casablanca such a unique experience.

Another unique quality Casablanca offers comes in the form of water. In our experience Casablanca is the only accommodations that provides fresh, safe, filtered water from your kitchen, bathroom and shower taps and is an example of the attention to detail that this couple has put into their establishment.

Casablanca could be one of the most expensive places to stay in Zipolite...BUT IT'S NOT!!! It is wonderfully reasonable and adds to why we feel that once you stay there you'll never want to leave.

With 3 beautiful rooms available and a 4th on the way, this place books up fast.
So book early and stay long for a vacation you'll want to repeat as often as you can.

Finally, We would like to thank Kelly and Sherry for all their hospitality and support and send a special hello to our fellow Swedish and Canadian guests (you know who you are) that added to our incredible stay.
