We love this place! It's like coming home every March. Fine private room w/bath, scrumptious 2-3 course meals (breakfast @ 8:30, lunch @ 2:00), excellent location two blocks from the Jardine and a lovely roof deck with extraordinary views in every direction. The place is beyond spotless. The outdoor glass steps to the roof deck every morning. The staff is so warm and cannot do enough for you. Jesus is a most warm, gracious host who speaks English quite well. His mother's wonderful stained glass and mosaics add to the ambiance.

This is a B&B with some confusion over exactly what happens with breakfast. We booked through booking.com who said breakfast would cost an additional £10 each per day. This seemed excessive especially when Americans staying there told us they were paying US$12 per day.
It is well located close to the town centre and has a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the town.
Jesus our host was helpful and did offer the use of his kitchen for making tea and coffee. The room had a small fridge which was also helpful.

The room was rather dated, the plumbing was pretty old with noises coming from other rooms in the night. Our feeling was it was expensive for what it offered although San Miguel de Allende is an expensive town.

We stayed at Casa Maricela for 4 nights while visiting San Miguel. This was a hidden gem right at the heart of the Centro. The place was very charming, full of plants in colorful pottery all around the property. The room was very comfortable. It has this amazing rooftop terrace with 360 degree view of the city. We watched sunrise and sunset from the terrace in nice comfortable wicker chairs surrounded by wonderful plants and lavender smell. It is a short walk from Centro. I cannot thank enough our host Jesus for his hospitality and all the help. He spoke fluent english compared to our minimal Spanish. I had left my phone charger home, he lended me his during our whole stay. He was always there to answer our questions and make recommendations with a smiling face. It was a joy seeing him every day. If you plan to visit Sam Miguel, definitely give a try to this place. You will not regret.

I stayed with host, Jesus and his attentive staff for 3 weeks this month and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Casa Maricela. Great location - can walk everywhere. My room was on the 3rd floor with clean, comfortable bed & private bath. Delightful roof-top terrace with good seating, greenery and gorgeous 360 vista.
I elected half-board option (breakfast & lunch (delicious 3 course-meal served @ 2:00p.m.) which was a perfect choice, allowing for a wee siesta in the afternoon before evening activities.
I will return and highly recommend this hidden gem.

Room Tip: 3rd floor room closest to roof-top terrace stairs was my favourite.
