A clean, comfy and cosy ski hotel. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and the room was very clean and was cosy. The view from our room was also very pretty and scenic. The room is fairly basic, lacking a safe and a slightly dated bathroom. We did find the shower (whilst powerful) wasn’t massively hot and the pillows on the bed were quite thin.
The breakfast was deliciously fresh and varied. We also had drinks in the bar the evening before which was very cosy with music playing and a good choice of cocktails and beer.
Another negative was it seemed there was never anybody at front desk to assist with anything and when we were greeted, the man who greeted us was quite frosty and not very welcoming sadly. However , the staff in the bar were very warm and friendly.
The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from Sirdal Skj Resort so a great location if you are using this hotel to ski. There is also a big car park at this hotel so parking was never a problem for us.

After a long drive from Oslo, this hotel was a much needed cosy stop on our way to Kjerag.
The staff even accommodated for 2 of our group of 4 to camp on the hotel grounds.
When checking in, we arrived quite late and were greeted by Kory and Eirik who I believe are the restaurant and general managers, who made our stay here unforgettable.

Our room was simple, but just what we needed- clean and comfortable. Most importantly we had access to the swimming pool and sauna too which were clean and well maintained.

We were ready to check out at 5am the next morning for our hike, to find the hotel provides a takeout breakfast for guests who check out early.

After our hike we even came back to this hotel to stay another night. There were other options of places to stay but we loved this place so much, we had to go back there again.
The hotel is situated in a perfect location to get to Kjerag, it has stunning views, the decor is welcoming, the food in the hotel restaurant is great and all the staff members we met were incredible! So a massive thankyou to Eirik, Kory and Kamil who made part of our Norway trip amazing!
We will definitely be visiting this hotel again.

Made a reservation through their website that did not have prices visible. We received a confirmation very quickly stating that the room price was 270 € per night or 540 € for two nights. We thought that this was way too expensive for our budget and we tried to cancel our reservation. They replied that cancelation is possible but we have to pay the full price according to their cancelation policy. We tried to tell them that their confirmation not does not constitute an agreement from our side, but they stayed firm in their position. Being a foreign worker in Norway I did not want to get into a fight with the hotel so we decided to go there as we originally planned.

For that price you would expect something decent. What we found was a youth hostel level accommodation with linoleum bathroom floor, broken soap dispenser, leaking toilet and stained carpet and furniture. Our room price included a two-course meal on both days (taco buffet on the first night and an OK non-gourmet buffet on the second night) and packed lunch (piece of paper that we can wrap sandwiches that we could prepare from the breakfast table)for days' activities with filled thermos (we did not have a thermos with us, so we "had a problem" as they put it).

The service was inconsistent. Some waiters were friendly, but some were masters in ignoring clients. One female bartender managed to avoid eye contact on both evenings when we visited the bar. When we came back from day's activities the maid had visited the room, but had not made the beds as there were personal belongings (pyjama) on the bed.

Sirdal itself is great especially for cross-country skiing. However, my advise is to find another accommodation.

Hello Kimmo, thank you for your review. We know cancellation policy is strict, but running a weather condition based hotel, this is necessary to keep the hotel, and not at least the offer. of having a hotel in Sirdal We are in a continously process of upgrading the hotel, and look forward to meet the future demands of our guests. Hope you will be back one day, and that your stay will feel more suited to meet your expectations. Best regards Eirik

We just spent 2 nights at this hotel but found the room very disappointing even though it was quite large. The furniture was cheap , the bathroom very small and nothing except soap and a hair dryer. No shampoo no creams , cheap old towels and a shower that went all over the floor after use. No floor mat in the bathroom either. The beds were 2 singles pushed together with a double pillow top over them. Cheap flat pillows and only 2 so take your own.
However the view is fabulous and it's in a great location for hiking Kjerag. Also a nice swimming pool and sauna. Wish they had a hot tub too. The food was quite nice for dinner but not much choice. Breakfast was a buffet not much choice but they did have scrambled eggs, boiled and fried in a heater.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. It could be a fabulous place as nothing else in the area. The best thing is we could take our dog into the room. I would return as the area is wonderful with many trails to walk.

Friendly staff, clean room. Food OK. There was a problem contacting the front desk during checkin. No bell or anything in the reception. Had to ring them! Very late breakfast (eight o clock). Very quite surroundings. No manmade noise at all. And the tap water tastes extremely good. TV could be better; ruined NRK1. Main customers has to be tourists. And for that, it works. A bit pricy, though.
