So we didn’t even stay here: we were staying in an overpriced, poorly served Airbnb up the road. R1300 for a single room with no Aircon or fan - it was 41,5 degrees in the car on the way to the venue.

So I phoned around to try find a fan solution. Benita came to the rescue - she said “leave it with me”. A short while later she called to say she has found an industrial fan for us; where can she drop it off....
We offered to pay for her time but she wasn’t having any of it.

I wish we hadn’t already paid the other venue. I’m so impressed with Benita’s response to our challenge. If that’s any indication of her place you are all in very good hands.

My husband and I stayed at Lumley's during our winelands tour. What a hidden gem in Stellenbousch! It is a beautiful home, the bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a gorgeous view of the mountains from our bedroom window. Benita and her family are wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed, including a delicious breakfast in the morning. We would have loved to stay longer.

Visited the area for a friends wedding and stayed at Lumley’s place for 5 nights. We couldn’t have wished for anything better, the location was perfect for the wedding venue and the activities that had been arranged in the surrounding areas. Benita and her family were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with local produce served. The room was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The bed was excellent, big and extremely comfortable! Superb value for money, highly recommend!

I spent one night here, and it was perfect. My room was quiet, and had every amenity one might need. Breakfast was excellent, not least Benita's home-made wheat-free muffins. Benita was accommodating also when I had to cancel one night at very short notice. Top marks!

I recently stayed in the beautiful Dwarsrivier valley (between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek) at Benita's B&B and although I only stayed one night, her hospitality was impeccable and the room was clean, comfortable and adequate. She insisted that I could not leave in the morning without having something from their breakfast offerings even though I was due to meet elsewhere for breakfast - she makes sure that her guests enjoy a coffee, tea or juice and a delicious homemade muffin first! It was just perfect!

The views of the valley and mountains are just gorgeous and I imagine that, when you have time to sit and have breakfast here, it is a tranquil way to start the day.

Thank you so much, Benita, for a wonderful stay, your friendly service & homely accommodation.

Dear Queen Bee Marketing what an honour to have hosted you. I am glad that you liked your stay and my staff is making us proud by making sure that the rooms are in tip top shape for our guests. I am glad that you enjoyed and appreciated our offerings. We were raised that to never allow your guest to leave on an empty stomach - trying to fulfill that as part of our heritage of our village. Both Simonsberg and Groot Drakenstein mountain views are awesome indeed. Especially now that Boschendal and Banhoek Conservancy added the walking, running and cycling paths as well - a treasure indeed. God bless and looking forward to your next visit to the valley. Benita
