The Hotel concept and location are good, however its behind the 4 star level. The staff is ok but better training and supervision is required, the check in process was very slow and guest must wear a paper pur during their stay because the resort area has restricted access(these days better options are available).
The rooms are ok but the pressure at the shower is very week not too mention that hot water was made available after notifiyng the reception. In general the maintenace needs more atention, the pool looked abandoned and at the conference room the air condiitoning units were dripping water.

The setting are very nice, view is great. But the service sucks. Please are very slow for the basics like checking and fixing something that is not funtioning in the room. I wanted to use the safety box and they needed to call the manager of the hotel, which is the only one that can unlock those for guest use. Wifi only in the restaurant and in the restaurant better to ask what they have in stead of choosing from the menu...

I visited for one day and night to attend a friend's wedding at the hotel. This hotel is made up of individual cabins which are located in blocks of four (so 2 above, 2 below.) The cabins are really lovely - spacious, excellent bathroom, lovely balcony with sitting area looking out over the lagoon. There were bathrobes in my room (not sure if this applies to all rooms) and a fridge. There is mosquito netting around the bed which kind of gives the impression of a 4-poster!

Downsides - the free wifi is great in the main area but isn't accessible in rooms or by the pool as these are quite far from the hotel and there are no boosters. There are a lot of steps to negotiate and I actually got lost on the way back to my cabin but made it eventually due to a very helpful staff member! The hotel is very much off the beaten track and there is not a paved road leading to it, you will need to drive carefully over the bumpy tracks for about 500 yards from the main road. However it is only 5 mins drive to Bilene which has banks, mercados, etc.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us.

Dear Karen1573, Thank you for taking time to review Humula Beach Resort. We are delighted that you had a wonderful stay at the resort. We acknowledge your concerns about absence of wifi coverage in rooms and pool area. We will be extending this facility to the above mentioned areas as currently coverage is confined to public areas. I have communicated your positive comments on staff friendliness to all associates. We certainly look forward to hosting you once again in Bilene. Warm regards, Nyasha Muza General Manager

Perfect place for a romantic escape. The room was lovely and spacious, service excellent, pool area beautiful and all in all we had a great stay. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant and breakfast was good too. Only downside was that our room was veeery far away from the entrance and parking so there was lots of walking involved coming and going. Sure its a bit pricy but you do get this extra luxurious feeling..

I stay at this hotel for 3 nights while attending a conference. The hotel is composed of several challets layed out on high dune covered on dense vegetation facing the salt water lake of Bilene. The most amazing thing about this hotel is that it has preserved the natural vegetation and combining this environment with the challets and other buildings having thatched roofs makes you literally wake up in the middle of the "bush" at the same time enjoying comfort of the room. I had a large king size bed, with a massive mosquito netting hung from the ceiling criating a curtain around the bed, well achieved. When I visited, the spa was not open for service but the pool was worth deeping in. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. I recommend it.
