If you are looking to bring family and friends together for a small celebration I can’t recommend this private function room enough, I organised a 50th Birthday meal for my partner and everyone said how lovely the room was, it even has a little courtyard garden that you can use.

Gemma assisted me through the whole process and was so helpful, she really made it very easy for me and relieved the stress that anyone feels when they are organising something special.

On the day the staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were so accommodating and everything was just perfect.

We have eaten here many times in the hotel restaurant and the food is always very good, I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here and that didn’t change, the quality and standard of the food wasn’t compromised at all which often it can be when you have mass catering, all 19 meals were served at the same time, were hot and beautifully cooked.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my partners sisters wedding, (my new sis in-law to be) and had a wonderful time.

Our first night was to deliver various items to the hotel and to enjoy a Valentines evening. The food and service was excellent and the bar staff made very good Margarita’s..... our favourite tipple!

The hotel has 2 function rooms and we were to be in the library lounge, which can accommodate around 12 people and is very cosy for a small family celebration.

Staff had said they would dress the library lounge and prepare the table and seating layout. We have to give a massive thank you to Darren who made the room look spectacular.

Service was faultless, food excellent and a great atmosphere. All the staff were brilliant.

Rooms are well laid out, the hotel has very interesting and quirky decor and comfortable through. Breakfast menu has a good variety and is plentiful.

We booked this hotel because it said it was dog friendly, but it isn't - unless you want to leave your dog in the room all of the time. The dog was only allowed in the lounge or the outside (very cold) winter bar - which is basically a tarp with heaters. Not allowed in the bar area or the downstairs restaurant. The hotel itself has seen better days and was very worn. The mould around the bath area was a bit gross and could have easily been cleaned up. The whole place seems to need a makeover. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the food (which we had to eat in the lounge area) was OK. As this was a trip to celebrate a birthday for my sister in law it left me feeling underwhelmed and a bit deflated. Shame.

It was important to us that we found a hotel where we could take our dog with us. From the moment we arrived everyone was welcoming and very helpful. We could not fault anything the fact that we could leave our dog in the room while we enjoyed dinner and breakfast on our own was an added bonus. The food was outstanding especially the fact that breakfast was cooked fresh and not a buffet.
This was our first break away as a couple and we will definitely be back again.

On 19 October our family group of 28 came together to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. So we decided to do it in style and celebrate in the room, "Mr Gs" at Milsoms Hotel. The service we received was excellent. We could not have asked for more. The room was adequate for our group. It was beautifully decorated, enhanced by the flower arrangement by Gaye Drummond Florist.

The location and the private amenities were perfect, hence we felt as if we were in our own little bubble.

The staff at all levels were welcoming, very efficient and friendly, especially Yolanda and Emma because they worked hard to ensure we had everything we requested.
We particularly liked that each course was served in a timely manner and that the main course came up hot and it was tasty.
Thank you so much Gemma and staff for making this celebratory lunch such a success.

My husband and I stayed over for the night and our tiger themed room was spacious, clean and light. The bonuses were: a very comfy bed and good shower flow. We would stay again and would recommend anyone to share this experience.
