We stayed last min on a Saturday, great hidden gem of pub, quaint and full of life. The room was above standard for the cost and the whole place is immaculate, top quality on room and cleanliness.
Will definitely be returning for the craic and the most friendly helpful staff.
Definitely make this one to stay again.
Thanks to all at Jimmy McGees.
We are very disappointed with the treatment we received upon arrival to this accommodation.
When the room was allocated to us, having to share the entrance with another room was not ideal so we enquired about the possibility to change to another room with private entrance which we were told was available. However the lady of the manor for some reason, despite asking in a very diplomatic way, she took offence thinking we were worried about covid 19 and told us she wasn't feeling comfortable with having us there and therefore she was cancelling the booking without giving us an option.
Not the Céad míle fáilte we expected!
Having traveled internationally for the last 30 years I find this to be extremely unreasonable.
We were left with no choice but to leave and find alternative accommodation at the very last minute which luckily ended up being far superior and cheaper.
We stayed for 3 nights in August 2020 , We had a lovely time, the rooms were to a very high standard.Spotless clean . Jim & Betty were perfect hoists,HONESTLY could not do enough for you.plenty of tea and coffee facilities. lots of space for hanging clothes and storage. We stayed in court yard room 19 and could not hear any noise from pub what soever. The bar is also a lovely little atmospheric pub with friendly staff. complements to the owners Jim & Betty and also shout out to Derek,so friendly and professional.sorry i cant remember the lovely lounge girls name, who took our food orders We are booked again for later in the year.longer stay this time, looking forward to it already
Pub with accommodation (no breakfast).
Clean and well presented bedroom.
Strong smell of drains in our room (No. 2).
We could hear the entertainment coming from the bar directly below us, but all was silent by 12:30.
Downstairs lounge available for guest use.
Stayed here for a girls trip recently. We had previously stayed in whites hotel but decided we would try out the guesthouse at jim mcgees for our next visit since we loved the bar area. We were very dissapointed, the parking area is unsecure surrounded by chalet style accommodations, this would be fine except for the issue of other guests banging suitcases of the cars outside their chalets.
The rooms are below average, I was instantly hit with a strong smell of dampness. Some rooms were quite large which was a bonus as we could all get ready for our night out in one room. Tea and coffee making facilities were also supplied , as was ear plugs, which made sense as the night wore on. Very hard to sleep as the walls seem to be paper thin. The bar area is good with a great selection of spirits. On returning home i had to rewash clean clothing that i had not wore but had hanging in the wardrobe as they smelled musty.
You must also go off site to get breakfast. There is a cafe about a five minute walk away in the town that was brilliant .
All in all I would not recommend a stay here but visiting the bar is a must if you are in wexford.
