We stayed last min on a Saturday, great hidden gem of pub, quaint and full of life. The room was above standard for the cost and the whole place is immaculate, top quality on room and cleanliness.
Will definitely be returning for the craic and the most friendly helpful staff.
Definitely make this one to stay again.
Thanks to all at Jimmy McGees.

We are very disappointed with the treatment we received upon arrival to this accommodation.
When the room was allocated to us, having to share the entrance with another room was not ideal so we enquired about the possibility to change to another room with private entrance which we were told was available. However the lady of the manor for some reason, despite asking in a very diplomatic way, she took offence thinking we were worried about covid 19 and told us she wasn't feeling comfortable with having us there and therefore she was cancelling the booking without giving us an option.
Not the Céad míle fáilte we expected!
Having traveled internationally for the last 30 years I find this to be extremely unreasonable.
We were left with no choice but to leave and find alternative accommodation at the very last minute which luckily ended up being far superior and cheaper.

Response from Jim McGee, Owner at Jim McGee's Traditional Bar and Guest Accommodation
Responded 4 weeks ago
Dear Marta, thank you for your review as I use all reviews as a means of market research in an effort to improve the quality of the service I provide. I am sure I speak for my colleagues engaged in the hospitality service when I say “I wish the writer would relay the full details of their experience” as when you arrived your companion appeared to have anxieties with the accommodation, first with using the door handle on the entrance door of the shared hallway which accommodated 2 rooms (yours and another guest), I advised him of the hand sanitizing station on wall directly beside said door, this did not appear to appease him as he requested a room with direct access from outside, I advised him I would make every effort to re-locate you both, he then proceeded to question the soundproofing of the rooms, the positioning of the television also structure of adjoining wall in room, I felt at this stage your companion did not feel safe either comfortable with our accommodation and with all of this in mind I understood that perhaps staying with us could not develop into a good experience for you both and suggested that possibly accommodation elsewhere would be more suitable, further to this I offered free cancellation, you then informed me that you were not happy with my suggestion and would be “putting up a bad review” those dreaded words we hear so often when we try to defend our business and the efforts of our hard work.

Pub with accommodation (no breakfast).
Clean and well presented bedroom.
Bed uncomfortable.
Strong smell of drains in our room (No. 2).
We could hear the entertainment coming from the bar directly below us, but all was silent by 12:30.
Downstairs lounge available for guest use.
3/5.

Stayed here for a girls trip recently. We had previously stayed in whites hotel but decided we would try out the guesthouse at jim mcgees for our next visit since we loved the bar area. We were very dissapointed, the parking area is unsecure surrounded by chalet style accommodations, this would be fine except for the issue of other guests banging suitcases of the cars outside their chalets.
The rooms are below average, I was instantly hit with a strong smell of dampness. Some rooms were quite large which was a bonus as we could all get ready for our night out in one room. Tea and coffee making facilities were also supplied , as was ear plugs, which made sense as the night wore on. Very hard to sleep as the walls seem to be paper thin. The bar area is good with a great selection of spirits. On returning home i had to rewash clean clothing that i had not wore but had hanging in the wardrobe as they smelled musty.
You must also go off site to get breakfast. There is a cafe about a five minute walk away in the town that was brilliant .
All in all I would not recommend a stay here but visiting the bar is a must if you are in wexford.
