We had the pleasure of staying at the Square Louvois at the end of August. The hotel is located centrally with walking distance from the Louvre, Gallerie Lafayette and other sites. Lots of Japanese and Chinese restaurants in the area!
The hotel is nice and quiet. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. Check-in was super efficient, and again the staff were really nice and relaxed. We got the toiletries plus coffee and tea in a paper bag which was something new to me. Might have something to do with the current Covid situation. Not a big deal though and when we needed more, it was just to ask. We were asked if we wanted to use the pool, but that was not the case. If so we would have needed to book a time slot.
The room was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and could really not hear any noise from outside. Must say all very nice! There was a mini bar, but that was empty. I'm not sure if this again has to do with the Covid situation or that is just how it is. We bought some drinks and snacks from a shop ourselves and used the mini bar as cooler.
The only slight thing I would have to say about our stay was the breakfast. After reading several reviews from others, we were rather disappointed with the rather limited choices. We honestly expected more, but again could have something to do with the Covid situation.
Would we return? Yes we would! Certainly not because of the breakfast, but because of everything else!
I have been to Square Louvois several times since i first got to know it in 2017. It is not a hotel. Square Louvois, even in these challenging times where distancing - whether social or physical - is required, feels like home: the place to be when in Paris and a happy, smiley, efficient and supportive family.
The staff in the house is service-minded, proactive, talkative and discreet, at the right moment in the right way. The management is present and highly supportive of their staff, which is not always the case and tells a lot about the place you are visiting. Communication is efficient and pragmatic yet very high end and personalized.
Rooms at Square Louvois are bigger than Parisian standard rooms, clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. Curated common areas reflect the character of the house and play a part in what is already a warm and friendly welcome every time you enter Square Louvois. Both breakfast and the afternoon tea, this last included for all guests, are a convivial and pleasant moment when to enjoy good food and kind service. The house is in the centre of the 2nd arrondissement, next to some of the most interesting sights and in one of the best areas for foodies and social people, yet very quiet. The hotel also offers a wellness area, with a beautiful swimming pool in a cozy natural stone Parisian basement, which is definitely a pkus for a Parisian Boutique Hotel!
I am looking forward to visiting Square Louvois again and definitely recommend it!
Having traveled frequently to Paris, this is my 'go-to', #1 Hotel. The location is perfect... a walk to the Louvre or the Seine... an even shorter stroll to the Paris Opera House. Shopping heaven with the huge department stores such as Galeries Lafyette and the most beautiful shopping street... Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré all nearby. That's not to mention the dozens of wonderful restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk - My favourites are around Place du Marché Saint-Honoré.... but I always take breakfast in the hotel... the breakfast room is modern, the buffet is great and the service is always friendly and attentive. When I can make it, the complimentary afternoon tea in the hotel is a pleasant treat.
As for the hotel itself: perhaps the ideal balance of boutique hotel, modern fresh finishes and warm, well thought out interior design. The painted tones and black and white photography in the rooms, matched against perfect white sheets and luxurious cushions and curtains, stylish desks and chairs make Me feel more at home, than in a hotel.
I've tried every room type and they are excellent and functional from the layouts, to the bathrooms (especially the one with the TV built in to the mirror!). Importantly the lighting is varied, to allow for ambience and I appreciate the availability of English television channels, from BBC1 through to ITV...
Amenities on-site are quite rare for a hotel in such a central Paris location: Gym and Swimming Pool!
The staff are always super helpful, offer warm greetings and excellent advice. I can honestly say I haven't found a more friendly welcome in any hotel, anywhere in the world! My compliments to Alix and her team, whom do an exceptional job and create a happy, vibrant atmosphere!
The location is very useful and The hotel is very clean . The staff members are extremely attentive and helpful . Breakfast is generous and decent . We really enjoyed the pool. I would highly recommend to couples for a nice break in Paris .
This hotel was absolutely perfect. I stayed here with my 13 year old daughter for about 36 hours in Paris on the way to Rome. (We are from NYC) The location of this hotel was great. Walkable to all kinds of things...shopping, Louvre, restaurants. The pool was amazing - it’s as nice in person as it is in the pictures. Warm, comfortable, relaxing. Great bed linens and comfortable beds. Very well appointed rooms, and the whole place was immaculate. The breakfast was even fantastic! We got there toward the tail end of the buffet breakfast when there wasn’t much left and it was still delicious and hot. But the absolute best thing was the staff!! They were SO attentive to every need. Yussef was sent directly from heaven above lol. Our luggage was lost by the airline and he helped us arrange to get it back, he checked in on us the next day to make sure we got it. But the most incredible thing he did was he grabbed a foldable map and plotted out an entire day for us!! He recommended several sites, how to get to each (which were better to walk or take taxis etc), the tips and tricks to not waiting in long lines, which order to visit them in to make the most of our short time there - and even booked our tickets ahead of time and had them ready and waiting. He also recommended a place for dinner that was perfect, and made us reservations. It was a small restaurant in La Marais on a small street, so it wasn’t a touristy or crowded place! It was just locals and phenomenal food. And he seemed like he truly enjoyed helping us. All the rest of the staff were just as kind and welcoming. No issues with language barriers at all (I don’t speak French at all). 100% recommend staying here for a fantastic experience. It allows you to focus on your trip and enjoy your time without worrying about any of the logistics. I can’t wait to visit again!
