On a positive note, the hotel is modern, well located and has – in appearance- all the attributes of a very nice hotel.
Unfortunately if we scratch the surface there are two major spanners in the work:
1. Poor Room Design
2. Below average service
Room design: whoever designed the room should be fired. I have never seen a room so impractical: hardly any storage space, no cupboard, two coat hangers, a shower in full view of the outside, water splashing everywhere outside the shower, no power sockets by the bedside table etc, a safe very difficult to use, etc. How could such a poor design be implemented is beyond belief and reading the other comments I don’t think there are many fans.
Service below average: first not much staff/ client interaction and not much staff to be seen. The room cleaning was superficial and upon check-in I noticed many issues that should not be present if some basic checks had been done: the safes were locked (in both rooms we booked), aircon was not operative in one room, a coat hanger was missing (down from two to one!), one of the rooms was smelly, tea bags were missing in the other one, etc,.. I think the room cleaning department really need to up their game. There are also many little maintenance issues such as door handles that need to be re tightened, broken safety lock at the door, etc there are very easy to fix but have been overlooked for weeks or months and that creates a bad impression.
So the overall impression is that the hotel could be really good but needs a serious shake up. There was no manager to be seen over the four days we stayed there and it really transpired in the service standards. Nobody seemed to be really in charge.
