20 minutes walk from El Born which is our favourite neighbourhood! Quiet and calm and nice to just get away from all the noise and just sit down on the balcony and enjoy people passing by. The room is clean and the bed comfortable. There is a commun living room where you can store your Cava and enjoy it later on.
I’ve just returned from Hostalin Gran Via following a great trip with my husband and a couple of friends. The hotel is basic and clean, but has everything you need for a short city break. It is in a great location, although we initially had a little difficulty finding the building- we arrived at night, so we couldn’t see the hotel sign particularly clearly from the street. The hotel is a short and easy walk from Place de Catalunya and La Rambla, so very accessible from the airport bus drop off point. In the opposite direction you can easily reach Arc de Triomf and the beautiful district of El Born. Our friends had lots of Gaudi related visits booked and were able to reach everything on foot in around 20-25 minutes maximum without the need to rely on public transport. That is a much better way to see the city if you have no difficulty walking. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome along with a cold bottle of Cava per room with some flutes. This was really appreciated! The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. There is a small kitchen for guests use along with a coffee machine and biscuits. Our room was in very close proximity to the small hotel reception, which meant that we could hear some low level noise as people went about their day. However, this would in no way deter us from staying there again and rooms further along the corridor were perhaps unaffected. All in all we thought this was a great base for our trip and for the price we paid. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks Hostalin Gran Via. I’m sure we’ll be back!
The employees running this hotel made this hotel even better. The rooms are on the smaller size but manageable for two adults. The balcony was one of the best parts of the room! We stayed in June and the air conditioning was very cold and worked great. This hotel is very minimal, literally a single bedsheet on the bed and one towel per person which was ok being summer. Good location a few blocks from the main shopping/restaurant center and a lot of restaurants and small convenience stores directly around. Our hotel overlooked the main street with a bus stop below which I was concerned about being a very light sleeper but it got very quiet at night.
we enjoyed our stay here. the room is very nice with a small balcony and a private bathroom. very friendly staff. super central location, 10 min to placa catalunya, 20 min to the beach. very friendly staff
Hostalin Gran Via is a great little place, a 10/15 minute walk to central Barcelona, but still in a nice area with a range of lovely restaurants nearby. In the other direction, La Sagrada Familia is a 15 minute walk. The hostel itself is run by a lovely group of people, every person we met was friendly and helpful. Joseph, who we saw when we checked in, gave us a map and pointed out some points of interest and some eating out recommendations. The room was a good size and clean, we had a room with a private bathroom, and a good balcony where we could overlook the street. The balcony had glass windows so we weren't open to the elements. Despite being on a main road the balcony door blocked out all the road noise. There is a communal area kitchen where you can make hot drinks and store any food you buy, and a small dining area. Fab place, would highly recommend it to anyone looking.
