This hotel occupies 1 floor in a building that also seems to house private residences. The first time you get to the hotel, you have to buzz in, climb up wooden staircase (some steps are uneven so be careful) and go through another door to the small reception area. I don't think there is an elevator. The reception area looks like a big living room with a few sofas. There is free wi-fi.
My friend and I shared a room with 2 twin beds. The room faces the street and you can open the big French doors to let some air in (there are also wooden shutters). For the price we paid (~50 US$/night/room), this hotel was very good for our 2-night stay in Madrid. However, for longer stays, I would probably go for a hotel with more amenities.
Location: The hotel is on a small, narrow street that is a short walk to the 3 museums, Museo del Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza, to El Retiro Park and about 10 minute walk to Plaza Mayor.
We took a cab from the Renfe train station but one can probably walk. Going to Madrid's Barajas airport, the hotel called a cab for us (flat rate of 30 eu).
Rooms: Clean and comfortable beds. I just wished they provided shampoo and body soap. There was a big bottle of soap which I thought was just hand soap.
At one point we can hear someone's TV but it was just a muffled sound and did not bother us too much.
Staff: Helpful and pleasant. I think they are available 24/7 but you would have to use the little bell by the desk to call them as they do not hang around the reception area.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for short stays (2 - 3 days).
