It is without a doubt a bit of a trek to walk from Piazzale Roma to Rialto however, it’s so easy to find this hotel as it’s right on the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. I booked for a basic room but was upgraded to a super room with balcony overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge at no extra charge! Thank you very much for making my birthday weekend a very special one!
Hotel Marconi is a historic building in Venice. Our room was beautiful and clean. We had one of the few rooms with a balcony and I would highly recommend requesting this! The views are breathtaking just a few feet from the Rialto Bridge. An easy boat ride from the train station. The breakfast was substantial. Hotel staff were very professional and friendly.
There is not a better location in Venice. This was our first trip. We paid extra on arrival for a Canal Front room, well worth it. Balcony over looking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Front desk staff great, breakfast was excellent. Fabulous location. Next trip to Venice, this would be my first choice!
Highly recommend Hotel Marconi in Venice. Perfectly located where you can walk to a lot of the tourist sites AND hidden gems of Venice. Easy to walk to so many sites and saves time getting on crowded ferries - which by the way are super organised, fast and efficient.
We started each morning with a buffet brekky - delicious, fresh and filling.
Friendly staff, our rooms were cosy, clean and super comfortable beds. Rooms in Venice are small but this hotel in our standard room had the perfect space - not big and definitely not small. And right near the water taxi stop and just over the bridge for ferry stop. Perfect when you have luggage to wheel along the cobble streets, we only had to do this for 20seconds to our private water taxi! No stress!
The hotel also had porter carry our 2 big suitcases up and down the stairs. Luckily we were on level 1! So only one and a bit flight of stairs. And level 1 was easy access to the Breakfast Room! Love the breakfast at Hotel Marconi.
Located right near the Rialto Bridge and easy walking to everywhere and waterfront restaurants on both sides of our hotel front entrance.m, and at night the lighting just stunning. And the restaurants busy with happy diners. Whether to getting lost in the maze of cobblestones alleyways and canals, to using my sense of direction to walk to St Mark’s Square, to catching ferries to Murano and Burano Islands, walking to the Jewish Ghetto (which was our highlight) and spending the afternoon with Jewish historians at our own pace, shopping at the markets and shops - prices are cheaper outside of the big tourist spots if you want a better price. And the gelato ice cream - heaven!
We were a little apprehensive about arriving at this hotel as it was quite a bit cheaper than other hotels in the area but we really didn't need to worry- absolutely perfect location right at the Rialto Bridge & amazing value for money! Yes the hotel is quite dated but we felt it really added to the charm of Venice & everything was spotlessly clean. Our room was comfortable & perfect after a long day of exploring the city. Breakfast was delicious & plenty of choice for all tastes.
The hotel is extremely easy to get to from the airport- just take the water bus direct from the airport, get off at the Rialto Bridge & walk across the bridge & it's one of the first hotels you'll come to. We have already recommended this hotel to a family member & they also loved it. Would definitely book again if we go back!
