I stayed here for 3 nights and was not disappointed. We were met by the owner yoori who was very helpful with suggestions on things to do and see. We ended up chatting for an hour. The hostel is clean and modern with a smart layout. The showers and toilets are just outside the room which meant we weren’t woken by flatmates having early morning showers. I will definitely be back

It was about two weeks ago I stayed one night at this good hostel and as far as I remember there wasn’t any thing I didn’t like or had problem with. The restaurant/bar was beautiful. Breakfast was included and it was average. The room its separation wall between the beds was very good. Bathrooms were good. But what I liked most was the friendly and helpful behavior of the receptionist who unfortunately I can’t remember his name. He was the most positive point of the hostel 👍🏼

Unfortunately our time at Hostel 47 was wholly unpleasant. A lot of this was due to other people staying in the hostel talking loudly downstairs and in the hallways, and tramping up and down the stairs until at least 3:30am. This is not generally the fault of the hostel, however since there was were no night or security staff at the location from about 7:30pm, there was no one to police behaviour or noise.
Our room lock had big issues which had apparently been highlighted the week before. Our room was therefore left unlocked all night so our roommates could come and go. I felt unsafe as a result and had about 2 hours sleep.
There are no locks on the doors to the showers so I did not feel safe using one in the morning.
The beds are incredibly uncomfortable. The stairs are narrow and winding and I almost fell multiple times.
The lockers are too small.
The whole place had a strange odour.
I'm not sure how people have enjoyed their stay here. Perhaps ours was an anomaly. We got out of there as soon as we could the next morning and went straight to the train station.
I really am sorry to leave such a poor review, but I had such an uncomfortable stay, in more ways than one.

A great hostel indeed! Location is within walking distance to the city centre. The hostel is very clean and up to standard! The only drawback was the amount of stairs to get to the top room. Apart from that, perfect hostel!

Great hostel in Gent. Well located, but quiet street and we could park our car just outside. Nice meeting the owner, really friendly and making sure everything was OK. We are a family of 5 and stayed in a private room on the 3rd floor and from the velux Windows, we had a good view of the centre. Very clean and tidy. Totally recommend if you are visiting Gent.
