We stayed here for a week booking through GoNorthCyprus. On arrival (late as the airport transfer taxi driver got lost) they had no record of our reservation. The hotel was empty so we got a room. Next day no hot water and a light fused. Problems sorted but no apology nor any goodwill gesture. Breakfasts monotonous and request for variety ignored. Receptionist helpful with visit ideas. One taxi driver told us that the hotel used to be popular but no longer. I’m not surprised. We were glad to leave and transfer to the wonderful Bellapais Gardens Hotrl where we received a warm welcome and good customer service.
Spent a week at this lovely quiet place. The room was light and airy, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was good. We stayed B and B but also had a couple of lunches here and a Cypriot evening with local dishes.
Would love to return!
Amelia village is honestly the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. It's like a secret paradise! I've completely fallen in love with it.
It is relatively small, making it a peaceful, calm and homely place to stay. It may not be the most luxurious place, but it definitely feels like home when you're there, which for me is a million times better.
The location at the top of the mountains not only meant there were stunning views from around the hotel and from the balcony in the room, but also meant it was less humid than in the town centre, which was a big plus.
The hotel rooms were really nice, clean and fresh.
The staff were extremely friendly. They knew all the guests and didn't hesitate to help us with whatever we needed. Caner is the best! I would go back just to see him again!
Without a doubt the best thing about staying at Ambelia was the amazing food. We stayed in Cyprus for 2 weeks and this was by far the best food we ate during our entire stay. Authentic Cypriot food at its best!
As you can tell, I couldn't recommend this place more! Check out my photos and see for yourself.
Room was large but fixtures and fittings dated particularly in the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchen, but again on inspection the equipment was old. The staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant menu adequate, we ate their twice mainly because we couldn't face the very steep walk back fro Bellapais village. On the second occasion we were told it was the chef's night off so it was curry and meatballs or nothing. The pool an bar area were clean and relaxing with reasonable prices. Overall basic but suited our needs for a short stay in the area. Internet was restricted to the bar area.
A relaxing spot that obviously has repeat custom year on year, judging by the conversation around the pool. A good place just to chill down for the weekend, with plenty of books available, in a wonderful setting. Staff were very friendly and the evening meal was delicious. Excellent value for money. The only small glitch we encountered was a malfunctioning air conditioning unit in the double bedroom of one of the villas but as it was a weekend stay this was unable to be fixed. To be fair, a member of staff quickly examined the unit as soon as they were alerted. Would definitely come again.
