We were staying in Westward Ho but decided to visit Sidmouth and stay overnight, so this was a last minute booking. From our first call to Jonty until we left, everything was perfect. Covid 19 was taken very seriously and we felt completely safe. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We had room 17 which was lovely. The dining room is very pretty and the food, both evening meal and breakfast were beautiful. Thanks to the chef. All the young serving staff were so friendly, professional and helpful and you had the impression that the hotel is Jonty's pride and joy. The walk to the sea front is around 10 mjnutes. We have only ever stayed in 4 star hotels but would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.

The room was fairly small but comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a what seemed to be a newly fitted shower cubicle, no bath. Everything was spotlessly clean. There was adequate storage space and the room overlooked the side garden.
Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of cereals, juices and cooked food. Everything was cooked really well. We ate dinner at the hotel one evening, this was lovely and good value for money.
COVID19 was taken very seriously and we were reassured at the precautions being taken ie hand sanitizer available throughout the hotel, meal times pre-booked to limit the number of guests, tables well spaced, staff wearing masks at all times, rooms spotlessly clean.
The location of the hotel is perfect, a short stroll to the town and the beach and free parking is a bonus.
If the only thing we didn't like was the tepid, weak coffee served at Breakfast, then it must surely score 5/5

Just returned from 3 days at Mount Pleasant. From the friendly greeting when we arrived, to the very pleasant bedroom, the great food for breakfast and dinner, and the helpful staff our stay couldn`t have been bettered. Took buses out to Beer and to Budleigh Salterton and then walked back to Sidmouth on the S W Coast Path. Tiring but very satisfying. All the covid rules were well implemented and did not interfere with our holiday enjoyment at all.

Just returned from a brilliant 8 night stay.

Can't praise the hotel team enough for their professional yet discreet management of the health guidelines, ensuring we felt fully supported and able to relax and enjoy our holiday.

We had a cosy double (room 3) which was compact but had everything we needed- comfortable bed, shower over bath tub with complimentary shower gel, tea/coffee, hairdryer, plenty of sockets and drawer space. Room kept spotlessly clean.

We stayed on a DBB package which was definitely the best option as pubs & restaurants around Sidmouth were so busy with limited availability. The breakfast menu provided everything you could wish for plus really good coffee. The 3 course evening meal was excellent, beautifully presented and served on red hot plates, the home made Italian chocolate & almond cake (+mocha ice cream) has to be the best dessert ever. Never had the same menu option repeated despite the length of our stay - brilliant chef!

Special mention for the brilliant restaurant team who despite wearing PPE in the warm conditions were so kind and efficient, ensuring we received the best dining experience.

This hotel is perfectly situated, in a quiet location with hassle free parking, yet it's just a 5 minute walk from the sea front and promenade.

Thanks everyone at the Mount Pleasant for making our first long awaited holiday of the year so perfect. Can't wait to return.

Spent 5 nights here and was not disappointed. Due to Covid there were some rules to be applied but the management team saw that everything was done to ensure a pleasurable stay. Jonty and his family have been there for the past two years and are working on a programme of upgrades. New beds was one of their recent projects and I wish all hotels would have the same quality of bed as the one I had in room six. A brand new really comfortable bed which ensured a good night's sleep. The food was excellent. Dinner was pre-ordered as part of the Covid regime. Perfectly cooked and choice enough to suit all tastes. Breakfast was enormous - could go all day on a super repast. Lots to choose from and all good quality produce. The wi-fi worked and there was plenty of hot water. It is a short walk from the sea front and the town, is quietly situated and has a large garden with a terrace on which to sit and relax, and a lawn with a putting green for amusement. Staff were helpful, polite and wore appropriate PPE.
