Wasn’t looking forward to this stay due to the reviews but it was ok! Room was a bit small but clean, nice hot shower , very quiet area. Bar and restaurant not open but very close to the town so didn’t really matter. Staff nice and friendly. Old building but not run down so all in all not bad. Pricey for what you get though so probably wouldn’t stay there again. £140 for a single room with a double bed wedged in is way too expensive.
To start, parking only for 6 cars despite described as free parking for whole hotel. We had to park round the corner on the street wherever we could find, not ideal. There is no car park for this place.
No one at reception to check in at 1500, woman was late and offered no apology. There was a queue full of customers waiting to be checked in. Over our whole stay of 4 days we never saw anyone in reception or any staff members working, it had a very weird feel to it.
In our room a large black matt of hair was found on the bed, and the floor clearly hadn’t been hovered. SHOWER IS HORRENDOUS! Just a trickle of water comes out and the doors didn’t shut properly. No hand soap or toiletries and toilet paper was on the floor.
VERY thin walls around the hotel, can hear people in the room next to you.
Although not necessary there wasn’t even anyone around at reception when it came to checking out.
The street it is on is also very noisy at night and early in the morning with a lot of traffic and general noise from people. Doesn’t make for a good nights sleep while on holiday at all.
Despite being a cheap hotel, you would still expect it to be CLEAN and have some level of decent customer service. Very disappointed and will not visit again.
We arrived to book in to find the hotel deserted only a decorator . Office locked no proper reception area the bar/dining area all closed with decorating equipment in there. Lift only goes to first floor so if your disabled you will struggle if you are on second floor. Once lady came we were told there was no breakfast available a refund would be given for that. The whole hotel needed a serious update and deep clean. There were rubber gloves covering a electric socket. A broken/missing one lamp above the bed shower cubicle was dirty ..the bed well as you sit on it all you feel is the base. No WiFi in bedroom as stated only in public areas which were closed. Bar closed kitchen closed. It stated the covid regulations had hand sanitizer in all rooms no only one by office door. The one staff didn't have any ppe no signage or markings for social distancing. This hotel if you could call it that made faulty towers look good. The only good thing was its location NOTHING ELSE.saw another family check in they soon came back to say there room hadn't even been made up so she came back with sheets. Awfully rude lady said she can't answer the phone she isn't allowed hmmm and they only respond via email. We stayed for a maximum of one hour I am still trying to get a refund. Do not be fooled by the description just check the reviews
I found a room at this hotel for £7 only to be told that it was a misprint and I would have to pay another £63, after I refused she slammed the phone down and when I arrived told me i would be put into a single room instead of the family suite I booked. I didn't want to do this but I went along with it, after seeing the state of the rooms and eating one of the disgusting meals I quickly packed my bags and went to a different hotel.
The hotel needs updating the room was an eyesore, breakfast was ok I was surprised because of the state of the place. Dirty bedroom and bathroom the tap just kept going round. I won’t be staying there or recommending it
