We stayed at the hotel Victoria in a captains room the 16th of July . Just after the free change/cancellation period we got a call that there would be an extra fee of 40 euro’s for our dog and the advice was to send the dog Else where. That’s not possible on a road trip. When we arrived check in took forever. There wasn’t a line but it took 1 hour and 10 minutes. After check out, they could not seem to get the bill right and it took over an hour again! We got the Expedia VIP discount for the swimming pool. Swimming pool was great.
This made us willing to try it again on our way back 3 weeks later. Unfortunately the hotel Victoria was fully booked so we could only go to the quest house. I checked it we could still make use of the VIP discount this was all ok!
So on arrival on the 6th of august we went to the hotel Victoria to check in... according to the information we got we went to the reception at the hotel. Not the quest house. There was a specific note in the booking!
We stoot in line for about 40 minutes because understaffing. Then we were told we had to go to the quest house. Sauna entrance should be booked there as well. So there we went... we arrived at the guesthouse but there was no staff... we searched everywhere and we’re calling for staff. At the end we found a bell for delivery of packages. We rang it several times before someone answered. A while later someone came to check us in . We were send to the main hotel to get the wellness/sauna tickets over there. Again we stoot in line for 55 minutes! Almost 2 hours later after arrival.... the kids tired and desperate for a swim.
Then we were told we had to go to another desk to get the welness tickets. Again we waited for 10 minutes because they could figure out the VIP discount. At the end we did not get the discount, waited for 2 hours . The desk clerk told us the welness would close at 11. At 22:40 we got the announcement they are closing. We got in to the swimming pool at 20:35 and left at 22:40 and we still had to pay 1,50 per person extra because we stayed to long... while the desk clerk told us we did not have to (when we checked in)
So we payed an extra 8x 16 euro’s for the entrance, 8 x 1,50 for being to late (total 140 euro’s!!!) and we had a crazy amount of waiting time so the kids could not swim that much. It really felt awefull!!
I stayed in this hotel several times before this journey and before, all was great.
This time, It was catastrophic !
- The first problem occurred at the chek-in. After waiting 30 mins at the line, I took my wrist for thermes access. I verified it immediately, It did not work and when I came back to the reception for fixing that issue, I was asked to wait for at the line again by the same person who gave il to me 3 minutes before. I waited for 20 minutes again and that issue took 10 seconds to be solved ! Thank you
- others issues with the room : bottle of water never replaced, electronic device for temperature regulation out of service in the room.
The thermes were very crowded compared to before, and kids were in adults area
Me and my husband and son stayed there for one night on our travel back from Italy. We decided to add the extra day to rest and get home energized instead of flying straight home. The swimming pool area is huge and a bit daunting when you enter, on a Sunday it was crowded. You learn though to navigate eventually. The spa area was really beautiful and less crowded. The food in the main restaurant was fine. We got a room that was beautiful but facing into the pool area, that meant opening the balcony door let in moist warm air and no window to outside air. The room was pretty airtight with all doors closed. Our air conditioning did not work and we had to move in the middle of the night with our 4 year old in bathropes to be able to breath and get sleep, the temperature was at 28C in the room when we simply got overwhelmed. We left all our belongings behind and got them in the morning. We were tired and annoyed by this and we hardly slept and came back home exhausted. They offered to pick up our extras to make up for the horrible night. Paying 480 Euros for a one night stay, we felt picking up the 100 Euro bill for extras (which included the 2xentry to the spa) by them was getting off a bit easy. I think I will not be able to convince my husband to return but for those of you who are going, get an outward facing room. At least then you can open a window if all else fails. The staff in the lobby was very nice and helpful, just not their call on how to compensate such a malfunction in the system. Just be sure your air-conditioning is functioning and you will have a lovely time, I am sure.
I stayed in a "Yacht Cabin" which was beautiful and quite unique. The Reception staff were helpful and spoke perfect English once my patchy German ran out of steam! I loved the theming of the hotel as the room was beautiful and felt very relaxing. I dined in the Empire Restaurant which was good although a little on the pricey side for what you got. Breakfast was something to behold! Anything you could imagine and more was available including a machine which churned out pancakes and another which freshly squeezed orange juice which is a first that I have seen in an hotel. The spa was a wonderful way to relax after a business meeting. My only niggle is the location of the hotel. If you are not driving, it is a pain in the backside to access via public transport. Owing to engineering works on the railway and therefore having to take a replacement bus, it took over 90 minutes to reach from Munich Hbf. The journey to the airport wasn't much better. After trudging with my suitcase across the muddy car park to the footpath I had to take a train to Erding before changing to a 30 min bus ride to the airport. I would advise anyone to take a taxi to the airport if you can afford it!
I stayed here for 2 nights on a short trip to Munich area. I enjoy spas and saunas on my travels, so I decided to book the hotel. Most workers here speak limited English, yet the service was very good. Check in was fast and efficient, although they did not show me how to navigate the spas area which was very confusing due to its expansive size.
My room was well appointed and stylish. Excellent water pressure for the shower, although there is no bathtub in the room. High-tech electronic control panel for room air conditioning, as well as electronic light for privacy room note - a very cool feature! The bed was comfortable with clean linens. Bathroom amenities were well stocked.
The food at all the restaurants was excellent. The included breakfast was sumptuous and really nice! Hotel stay include access to the general pool and spas, but 14 euros extra charge for using the clothed and clothing-free sauna areas.
Catered to predominantly German couples and families, the hotel was busy and the Therme was also busy even for an early October time. I really enjoyed my stay, and it seemed to be a popular holiday resort for the locals. This is a great place to stay if you want to relax at the spas and saunas for a few days. I loved it!
