We went to Klosters for a long ski weekend and found this charming hotel at a very affordable price. The location in Aeuja is very quiet. We had an old but nice, big and clean room. It's very easy to go to the centre of Klosters-Platz by bus with the free guest card, or by walking along the Diethelm-Promenade, which is a lovely 20 minutes walk.
Their restaurant is delicious, with lots of different variations of freshly grilled meat or fish, and served upon very culinary sides. And don't miss their whisky bar after dinner!
A really great stay, we'll go back!
At the end of the Doggilochstrasse there is a hotel called Alte Post. It is a former post office. The rooms are a little bit old, but ok. Hairdryer isn’t working, there is no chair in the room to sit on and the wifi could not reach the second floor of the hotel. Something to sit on in the room is a must, because the bed is 20 - 30 cm above the floor and you have to sit on that when you are in the room. You have the feeling that you sleep on a mattres on the floor and the bed side table is higher than the bed itself. There are party lights in the showerhead, which you have to experience by yourself which were a fun novelty. Last thing about the room: there are two bottles of water, but no bottle opener!
Breakfast and staff are excellent. The Staff are friendly, helpfull and the breakfast is complete with coffee, fresh bread, nice cheeses, ham, juice, croissants, yoghurt and eggs. All the ingredients for a good start of the day. We didn’t have a drink at the ‘only whisky bar’ in Klosters, but it did look cosy.
Transportation from and to Alte Post is allright. You can take a bus, which stops in front of the hotel, and it will bring you in 10 min to the Gotschna gondola and the center of Klosters.

We’ve stayed at the hotel with our friends and two children (3 years old) for a weekend in the mountains. Ideally for family trip to Madrisa.
I booked two double rooms and when we arrived the manager apologized that he has to give us the apartment. I was like, sure if it fits all 6 of us. And yes, it was actually for up to 12 people with several bed rooms, very cozy, big, different bed rooms, one with loft bed. Very nice. Perfect for a small group or if you have children. The living room had a fire place. We enjoyed it a lot.
In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant and it was really, really good. Everything, the service and food wise both the menu and à la carte. They had also a lot of different steaks. Great atmosphere and interiors. The breakfast could have a bit more variety but it was good.
We will definitely go back!
When you take a walk along the river in Klosters, the charming ski resort in Switzerland, make a lunch stop at Hotel Alte Post. Very charming, typical Swiss. The bathrooms are decorated by the Swedish/Swiss artist Marianne Bergengren, who divides her time between Klosters and Stockholm.
The food is basic Swiss. I had my favorite soup, "Gersten suppe" which ich made of grain, air dried beef, onions, carrots etc. You can ad sausages like Vienna sausages or like at Alte Post a home made sausage. It tastes delicious. The hotel has around 29 rooms and is opened all year around. Average prices, nice service. Many local artists are exposed in the dining room.
Worth to visit. A real touch of the Swiss mountains atmosphere.
