The accommodation was simple but tidy, the view breathtaking!
In the restaurant, we had the package breakfast and dinner. Very good choices at the breakfast buffet. Dinner was superb! We also had a quick visit to the bar during cake time, with the company of a great pianist playing for us.
Sauna pool and kiosk areas were clean and extremely pleasant.
Last but not least all the staff was kind and helpful. We came with our 4 month puppy and they arranged dog treats, toys and a towel for her.
At the Reception the offered us a drink when we arrived, the housekeeper was very friendly and attentive. In the restaurant, the chef de service was Richard Béres, he transformed our dinners into an outstanding experience.
Thank you to all the staff!
Each year we return to this lakeside location with fabulous views of the mountains, the wonderful lake and an hotel of a high Swiss standard. It is a joy to return to the friendly staff who give of their all to ensure your visit meets the highest standard.
Many years ago we classed the Beatus as our 'stress free zone' and this still holds true to this day.
This quality of service can only be maintained by an excellent management team and staff that have remained for a number of years.
There is so much to enjoy at this establishment, from the Spa, swimming pool, sauna, salt pool to the essentials such as quality of food, cleanliness of rooms and comfort.
We should really keep this location a secret but that would be unfair. Disappointment has never been a word we have used in relation to this hotel and would always recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the Bernese Oberland.
Room 310 overlooked the lake, unforgettable views, comfortable size. Excellent housekeeping service. I was surprised there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but the hotel exceeded expectations in every other detail. My friend had been three times before and was warmly welcomed by name by several members of staff. Susanne the assistant manager, Vivienne the restaurant manager and their teams were warm, respectful, and gave us outstanding service. A lovely fuss is made of you if it’s your birthday! The gardens are gorgeous, I loved the stripey bench on the little sandy beach that had been created. Don’t miss the water beds in Le petit oubli if you want a quiet half hour, it’s not particularly well advertised. The outdoor infinity pool has glorious views and is set in the pretty garden. It has all sorts of surprise features, the one that got all the adults giggling like kids was a current that gently swept you round in a circle! The library is a lush spot in which to write your postcards and take complimentary tea and biscuits between 4 and 5. A lovely touch is the light salad buffet available for you to graze between noon and 8pm. We enjoyed a drive through the Emmental with Susanne taking in a biscuit factory and pottery, and a 2 hour round hike with Volker (everything I’ve mentioned is included in the 3/4 deal we had).
We booked this as a treat hotel as part of our two week holiday. We stayed for 1 night.
We got to the hotel at 1pm. We were escorted to the lounge area and left to sit for 20mins with no explanation. It was very frustrating and not the best of welcomes. The room was not ready which was understandable as we were early.
After arriving, we went straight to the pool area as we were unable to check in.. We were given a towel, robe etc and lockers were provided. The pool facilities were lovely...Well maintained gardens, Beautiful view, Nice large pool (both indoor and out) Entering the pool was unclear as there were no steps. Most people just slid in from the side and therefore when we wanted to go in, we did the same. Sadly, at the moment which we did this, we were shouted at by the life guard. Everyone in the pool was looking and it was very embarrassing. I suggest they provided a sign which shows that the steps to get into the pool are inside the building as this was not clear at all!!! This will save future embarrassment also.
The buffet lunch on offer was delicious and a good option for a light lunch. We were told the room would be ready around 4pm and that we would be informed by the bar staff when it was. We were not in any rush and were enjoying the sunshine so didn’t worry too much. At around 6pm we went to check in fully. The room was nice. Classic, spacious and well maintained. The bathroom was small and the shower slightly awkward to get into. We were informed that there was cocktails and canapés during that evening but we would be too late for it as we had only just checked in. This was frustrating as this was not mentioned during our initially check in process at 1pm and we would have planned our afternoon around this and come up to the room earlier to allow us to get ready and attend this.
We ate our evening meal at the hotel which was lovely. There was only 1 vegetarian choice but both meals ordered for the two of us were flavoursome.
The breakfast buffet was also good.
We used the gym. It was small and I would have expected a more developed facility for a health and wellness hotel but it was well maintained.
We were shocked that check out was 10am. The morning was quite rushed because of this and we did not feel we could make the most of leisurely coffees over breakfast.
The hotel was excessively priced for what it offers. We wish we had just payed for a hotel with a pool, rather than a ‘spa’ as the facilities on offer did not reach our expectation at all.
We loved our 3 night stay in this charming hotel. The food and service were excellent - a delicious breakfast buffet, and dinner was a different menu each night. They have a huge warm indoor/outdoor pool/spa and sauna complex. Daily activities were included such as pilates, hiking etc. Free bus into Interlaken (20mins) or Thun. We went up to Jungfraujoch on a sunny day, beautiful train ride. We would definitely go back to this hotel.
