We stayed here for 1 night during our travels thru Ireland and found it quite enjoyable.
Although it is situated on a busy road, traffic noise was not an issue despite our room facing the road.
Joan was welcoming, pleasant and helpful.
Our room with ensuite was on the small side but was well laid out, functional and comfortable.
Breakfast was varied and tasty but once the hot breakfast was served we were seemingly forgotten and weren't checked on or offered any refills of coffee/tea.
Just back from an overnight stay in Palmgrove b&b and felt compelled to leave a review as we were blown away by the hospitality. Room Was clean and spacious. The lady of the house was such a lovely welcoming woman and insisted on her son driving us into the town rather than leave us get a taxi. Lovely family all around. Breakfast was perfect. Would definatly stay there again if I was going to listowel.
The B & B was on the main road , with private drive way. Location was around 15 minutes drive out of town of Listowel. The room was clean but small. The bathroom was remodeled, but the water heater was hard to operate, either too hot or too cold. They did not have tea pot or coffee maker in the room, you had to ask the owner for some water. Wifi basically was the worst, I would say non existence. Irish breakfast was very good. For 1 night stay was alright.
Our son had won an award at the Listowel Writers Festival and we were told about Palmgrove from some friends of ours who said it was a wonderful place to stay. They were not wrong as we felt that 'Irish Welcome' as soon as we arrived. The place was excellent and Joan was there to greet us with a smile and the offer of a cup of tea or coffee. The room was comfortable and the surroundings were breathtaking. A lone tree greeted us in the opposite field as we drove out to Listowel and was picture perfect. Joan and Pat were very friendly and helpful. They knew Alex had won an award and made a point of congratulating him to make him feel special. We only stayed one night but will return again. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to go to Listowel or the surrounding area.
I was just after crossing the river on the last ferry and taught it would be hard to find a place at quarter to 11 at night, but after a 15 minute drive found Palmgrove. The room was warm, spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The full Irish breakfast was by far the best on the trip and the people there gave me great help on my driving route and the Kerry region in general. All in all, very friendly and good value.
