We stayed in Kinsale for one night at Carol's B&B. We had a great time and Carol was super nice and helpful. We had an early tour the next day so we couldn't stay for breakfast but everything looked delicious and the breakfast room was bright and inviting. Everything was pristine and just a quick walk to the main sights/bars and restaurants. Stay here! Thank you Carol and hope to visit again sometime!
My wife and I had a terrific stay here last weekend. The lovely owner, Carol, very kindly offered to pick us up from town, though the B&B is so central that we were happy walking. When we got there, we were delighted to find a big modern, spick and span room. One thing that I really enjoyed about staying here was the breakfast. There are bagels, pain au chocolats, cheese of various kinds, wheaten bread and more. My wife and I are looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Carol!
Loved, loved, LOVED the Golden Gate House in Kinsale. I can't say enough great things about Carol and Michael. We unfortunately blew out a tire and Michael offered to call the Kinsale Tyre shop for us right off the bat. We stayed in Room 1 with a great bed, private bathroom, TV, wireless/great windows/armoire/nightstands. This room was so cozy and perfect for us. I fell in love with the bedding and snuggled in after a wonderful day walking around downtown Kinsale--only a quick 5 minute walk from the house. Carol was so unbelievably great to us. We had walked into town and I realized I forgot my camera back at the house, so we walked back and she offered to take us to some great photographic spots just as the sun was setting. I was able to capture some truly beautiful pictures of Kinsale because of her. Also--breakfast was great. We had the option to have tea/coffee/toast/cereal/oatmeal/yogurt/fresh fruit--everything you can imagine for an awesome start to your day. It was our anniversary and we went out to the much acclaimed "Fishy Fishy restaurant." The food was great. We also had lunch at the Lord Kingsale (seafood chowder and lamb stew--both awesome). We loved Kinsale and the Golden Gate House, please don't hesitate to book this amazing experience.
This is the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever been to. The room was lovely; very clean, nicely decorated and we had our own bathroom with a shower. Carol and Michael are wonderful hosts. They were so friendly and kind giving great advise on things to do near by. It is a short walk to town. Kinsale is beautiful with many shops, restaurants, and things to see. We would definitely return and recommend.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the 'Golden Gate House'.
The room was very nice, clean and had an own bathroom. Even the towels were changed daily.
Even if it was a bit narrow, there a some parking places.
City center is very close, you need roughly 10 min. by feet. The city center is very lovely and we wish we could've stayed longer...Charles Fort is very worth seing, you can book a boat trip or just stay in a Pub and listen to traditional irish music.
I have to mention one thing, which was really disturbing:
The host had the habit not to turn off his car after entering its home. I don't have to remark what this means for the environment but for us, sitting on our bed with an open windows while the exhaust gases came into our room - that was not kind at all.
But all in all I would totally recommend it. (:
