We were three adults to stay at this African Vacation Lodge for two nights, and were well received. We stayed in one of the round houses. It was clean, scarcely but nicely furnished, with abundant room for all of us, comfortable and clean beds with mosquito nets. There were bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, with shower and hot water, clean.
We ate at the restaurant breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was simple and good, we especially enjoyed the local food. Also the Italian dishes, with the exception of the lasagna (dry, inedible!) were ok. The service was always very friendly and forthcoming, the staff at the restaurant spoke English, and with a few words of Amharic you won their hearts.

The few kilometers from the main road to the lodge were a challenge, but no problem for a proper car – which is a must, if you travel in Ethiopia, even in the capital Addis Abeba. Some people reviewing this location also reproached the sabanjas (guards at the gate) for not speaking English. If they did speak it, they would surely be managing the place! Actually it is very admirable that local people are employed at such an establishment.
Go there again? – Any time! – Eva

staff product knowledge is not that great. make sure to ask for receipt as they intend to not to give you one and keep the mony to them self. i had to ask to get the receipt and took so long with no reson. if the hotel is not geting the money i belive it will not be improved as we wanted to be.

Firstly the road into the resort is shocking and is a dirt road that has large crevices and ends abruptly and with no signage to warn that there is a huge hole.
I stayed in a suite, not sure how they can call it a suite. It’s a room at best. The standards are really low. The bathroom has a basin with no plug, and no hot water. It is however serviced daily. There are cups and saucers but no tea/coffee or kettle supplied, so not sure what they are for. There is no TV and no WiFi. There was a TV in the villas but these are owned privately.
There is no laundry service.
The staff are friendly and most don’t understand English properly so you get a lot of mixed and wrong solutions to your requests.
The staff are also not trained in resort etiquette and arrive at 6am every day with loud talking and shouting. For some or other reason one of them kept trying to open my door when they came past in the morning so I made sure it was locked at night. The restaurant also puts the music on loud from 6 am.
The breakfast is mediocre at best with no variety. You get the same everyday. The rest of the food (lunch and dinner) at the restaurant was substandard. Unfortunately there are no restaurants close by. We did eat at Sabana lodge down the road who have a really good restaurant by comparison.
They do have a horse that they use for rides and there was some canoes which we did not make use of.
The pool area is in a state of repair. There was a fire there some time back. The pool was clean, however no pool towels provided.
I wouldn’t stay at this resort again

I went to This place for two days leisure with my fiancé and friends. It was highly recommended by many as very good place and my expectation and the reality is very different.

When we arrive the receptionist welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us a room that accommodate all of us.
The kitchen is very poor with nails all over and broken wooden materials which is so difficult to make anything. We then went for dinner and ordered a meal for 6 of us, the food is so cold, with limited option and unfriendly waiter, oh he even said we either eat or leave!!!'

We then decided to. It our day two here and leave but in the morning there was no water and we complained and nobody cares which we decide to take next to the swimming pool and went for the included breakfast, again with no excuse they gave 6 pieces of egg for all of us with coffee and that was it!!!! I work in Tourism in Ethiopia and have lots of experience and this shocked me the most with the price they charge and services!!!

I will never go again!

The rooms here are large and very comfortable. The décor is a quirky. The rooms are set out in the grounds with outside seating. The restaurant is beautifully designed under a traditional roof but the food is average. There seemed to be lots to do with yoga on the beach, water sports, pool, kids area but the sun beds and play areas were tired and need refurbishing. Not here long enough to use pool but seemed fine from why could see. Breakfast was not open at advertised hour but was one of best I had in Ethiopia with lots of fresh fruit. Friendly staff. Wine by glass very expensive. Nice place as stop over to the South
