Our room was very clean and very large, plenty of room to spread out and repack everything as we prepared to return home. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also quite large and clean. The small balcony overlooked the pool and garden area, an added feature of the facility. Our breakfast was not included in the price, but we decided to splurge and have breakfast, anyway. The selections were numerous and the food delicious, but for the price it should be. The on-site parking was very convenient to the main route into the city, though it was a bit of a hike from the garage to the Reception area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us ideas of places to visit and directions to some of the sights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Merida and would like to have stayed another day.
Lovely room, great service, great location in a fascinating city. Excellent breakfast composed of high quality local products. The garden and pool was a nice place to relax after a long day visiting antiquities. I would stay there again.
Great location. Nice rooms. Good breakfast.
Has a car garage for parking which is very helpful.
Easy walking distance to historical sites, restaurants
and shopping. Easy access by car.
Has a nice pool, outdoor area and nice banquet rooms.
The Parador de Mérida is lovely - spacious, full of character and with very capable and friendly staff. We arrived when everything was stretched to its limits - seven or eight private events were underway - and yet the staff were calm, kind and took the trouble to answer questions and provide directions. It really was very impressive. The whole building has been renovated sympathetically, losing nothing of its local feel. Our room was airy and light, with a wonderful glazed tile floor, a very comfortable bed with high quality linen. The usual restaurant was closed because of all the events taking place; instead the hotel had set up a restaurant in a different room. Although we originally planned to eat out, we actually returned to the hotel to eat and had an amazing meal. The jámon ibérico was the best I have ever had, followed by a dish or pork and local rice which was exquisite. The swimming pool is nothing to get excited about - it is small, and located beside the parking area...not in the flower-filled garden you might have imagined. The place is conveniently located for the local sights - we walked to the Roman remains very easily - and there is secure parking on site. Definitely highly recommended.
In a good central location for visiting the old Roman sites all reasonable walking distance . Nice grounds but surprisingly despite May temperatures in the 30s pool doesn’t open until June ( why as was open in May last year apparently ) comfortable room . Having read previous reviews we didn’t eat dinner in the parador but breakfast was good (and included option of eggs benedict ) . If driving parking tricky as our sat nav took us to the parador entrance which was a dead end , fortunately a helpful policeman guided us to the parador parking which is at the rear of the building but we didn’t see any signage for it until reaching the parking entrance .
